Can't wait for the next chapter
Sable Dawn chapter 68 . 12/19/2019
It could be seen as an interesting spiritual resonance between the Admiral and Akagi, what with Akagi wanting to marry the Admiral and the Admiral looking at Fubuki like a daughter.
Sable Dawn chapter 65 . 12/18/2019
I thought Fubuki was a Yuri harem protagonist.
Sable Dawn chapter 52 . 12/18/2019
I just had a slightly morbid thought, what if Nagato's love of cute things was directly caused by her being "crewed" by animals, during that nuclear test.
Sable Dawn chapter 28 . 12/18/2019
This feels like a reference to dwarf fortress, i like it.
Sable Dawn chapter 2 . 12/18/2019
I can actually imagine the elves and the shipgirls having a very profitable arrangement, nearly every source have the shipgirls eat a lot, lot more then a hobbit could. so getting hold of lembas would be awesome.
WriterAnt1-1-0 chapter 88 . 10/12/2019
This is such a great tale, I'm so glad you've written it! Eagerly looking forward to more!

As for whether to stay and build or continue the quest, (I don't mean to intrude for lack of a better term) would it not be possible for Thorin to convince some more dwarves from The Blue Mountains to relocate and settle in Point Foothill? (Is that what Thorin's letter is about?) That way, the place would continue to grow and prosper whilst Thorin and co march on. Of course, there is still the problem of the ship girls being spread too thin. How many ship girls are there in total anyway?

Also, was it not mentioned that the ship girls are in possession of fairy sized tanks and artillery along with naval infantry fairies? Were those assets being saved for the other side of the Misty Mountains? Also, I could see at least one ship girl heading off with Thorin and co while everybody else stays behind, maybe a destroyer or cruiser (battleship would need to eat too much probably).

Rambling aside (sorry about that), thank you for writing this story, reading it has been a bright spot in my day for a several days as I've been binging it. It got to the point where I had to limit myself so that I could still read new parts everyday, it's soo good!

P.S. I'm very curious about what's happening back in the KanColle world with the Naval District missing. Obviously that part isn't the focus of this story, but a small glimpse back home and how the ship girls/navies of the other countries are coping would be interesting.

I... feel bad for the Abyssal.
the late Aimee chapter 80 . 8/13/2019
Very nice chapter with some spotlight for Mutsu.
So, can everyone listen to the communication, is this a willing use of loudspeakers von the ships side, or elven magic like listening to birds?
Keep up the great work.
the late Aimee chapter 78 . 7/31/2019
So cute...
...2nd place in the cuteness-rating just after February.
Well, great chapter, even without much action an only 3rd person ship girl apperence.
And I love you non-romace shippings, well done.
DschingisKhan chapter 78 . 7/29/2019
Every harem protagonist has that one suitor that's the wrong gender but earnestly tries anyway. Fili is that suitor. Sucks to be Fili.

Dwarves building aircraft is a novel thought, and I wonder if they might have thought to do it eventually?
the late Aimee chapter 77 . 7/21/2019
Great story.
I especially love your bird speech, wizard letters, and elven counsel - they are great, you have quite the way with words.
Thanks for your efforts and keep on the good work.
DschingisKhan chapter 77 . 7/11/2019
Oh dear. Perhaps he is not Evil just yet, but I can't help but feel this development to be an ominous one regardless.

Also, it probably doesn't need stated (because, y'know, Wizard), but Saruman is kind of a dick. Sure, Gandalf is too (again, Wizard), but Saruman comes across a lot more sanctimonious and condescending. Makes me much less predisposed to enjoying his presence and I rather hope he gets force-fed some humble pie at some point. Better if it's at the hands of a tiny destroyer that he underestimated. (Not sure who might fit that role...)
brother of kane chapter 77 . 7/9/2019
Yeah he is a puppet master, a manipulator, or a spider in a web, while not evil, he just prefers to have things and people go his way even if it goes I ro the darker grey ways of thinking. Also the faires are adorable.
DschingisKhan chapter 76 . 7/9/2019
An eloquent goblin! Never have I seen the like, but I accept it as you say.

And ominous tidings are afoot! Some gentle Google-caress suggests the Balrog Durin's Bane is about on the same level as Smaug in terms of threat. I'm not sure how Smaug compares to the flight of Cold-drakes aside from "more terrifying in every way", though. How much more terrifying is it?
