Ummm so you intentionally omitted events on this chapter cause the readers are alreasy familiar with them plus being of impnoneortance to Joran.

Still this kind of fast storytelling at least on my opinion,will lead to a fast tale with poor character development,as a Writer you should take things with more patience not pausing which each description much but yes on the level of the original version.

That being said,I liked the heart to heart OSHA and Joran was quite honest and the repercussions will sure be appreciated in their future bonding only hoping you do not take an obvious romance route with the pair,Joran has enough problems do not add "bedding Wildling" to his ever ending line of complexity.

Overall it was a little unexpected,as long as your originality keeps growing my interest would not dissapear.

Ok MAJOR problem here. If Jordan is Jorah Mormonts son then he would be the Lord of Bear Island not Maege. The only reason she was Lady of Bear Island was because no male Mormont was left. And even if it was Dorne and Maege would inherit if she was the first born he is the only son Jorah and the line of succession would go like so. First Jeor Mormont was Born and he had a son Jorah who was Lot and then he had Joran who will be Lord after him Jeor took the black so Jorah was Lord, Jorah sold slaves so he forfeited his life and claim so his SON is to be Lord because Ned Stark wouldn’t punish the Son for his fathers crimes so Joran should in fact be The Lord of Bear Island.

Didn't count with a reboot of The Coming of the Bear on the rest of my life, different Joran but the our beloved character all the same!

Noticed all the changes you've done to the backstory behind this tale kinda a radical one of you ask me,Joran's relations with both Dacey and his now father Jorah(his personality turned into a "selective father" hasn't it? Not Tywin but you certainly tried to make a true comparison between Joran and Tyrion,opposites but similar people at the end of the day),do not like that move a lot,really a new personality with that huge lack of self-esteem makes any character unappealing at first, reading about family related drama or genetic complaints was innovative at the start of asoiaf but with the number of characters suffering "that old narrative element" could have been a different plot pillar mate.

The Old Joran lacked inner family drama beyond Jorah and overall was seen as the golden boy in the family but beyond them he was practically the same monster to his enemies,he was an extrovert and had fun with all kind of interactions.
Here all that charisma I presume is being build not given free to our character,admirable trying to build Joran from nothing but the path could be tiring for the readers beware that.

Beyond that no-one should hate your writing nor your character over shameful Season 8,you are sending this to the readers under the Asoiaf tag not under the Game of Thrones one and trust me if they cannot make a difference between a poor adaptation and a revolutionary saga of books,they are only casuals that will forget about this franchise soon enough,with the new prequels I can predict.

Th early interactions with the Starks were boring/typical on fanfics and certainly preferred a quick advancement to Clash of Kings,the first book for Joran is a little out of place,he does not have much to do beyond being Tyrion's companion or bond with Jon Snow in the Wall which would be a lazy move,hoping that you keep to family squabbles until the War!

OSHA is a wild card hope that Joran has more perspective on your planning since he may be the only legitimate Mormont out of that household.
