Okay. That was a fun feelsy adventure. ;-; despite Roy’s request, I don’t know how Maes didn’t hug him like 6 times during that conversation, because I definitely would have if I were him. Because /ow/ poor Roy. Although the hugs that were had were still very good and I enjoyed them and I’m glad no one was looking at me as I read the first one, since I surely looked like a spaz. But still. Good good stuff. Good good end. I feel properly motivated to work on the arts! (It’s a shame I currently can’t, but still) although I do wonder what he decided to do with that folder... hmm I’d expect him to just burn it. :0
But regardless. Good stuffs. I’m glad they got to chat and everything seems good now. ;u; and ya, it might be smart for Roy to just stay on the ground...

I'M GOING TO MISS THIS SO MUCH. I loved the character progressions of everyone with Roy - including Roy! - and you're writing is so calming. It's like reading a story in the eye of a storm. I felt the chaos of everything but I was also placed into the perspective of the onlooker by seeing the broader implications of the chaos. I'm getting abstract, but that feeling's great. That last paragraph is literal gold, and I think a piece of my heart will be missing when I press post on this work and know that that may be my last time doing so for my little dragon torture story. This is sad!
But hey, this is a fantastic short story. Maybe I'll get to rereading it in 40 years! Cheers, mate, for another classic. Thank you for all that time making this story moving enough to make me cry 4 times! Can't wait to see you in my inbox again:)

And it occurred to me that you must have a knack for writing continuous conversations like this.. explains why you end up with many chapters that are just one big conversations. You’d probably complain about it, but I kinda like it. You know, I tend to make things segmented because conversational transitions are hard to write sometimes... but you know how to segue! so hey, that’s neat :’D

Okay, this chapter made me sad cry and happy cry. That was so beautifully written and the flow just felt so perfect - but I'm getting ahead of myself.
You captured the bittersweet tone and corrupt military to the t's. You hammered down that point in an organic fashion, and I hope you had as much fun writing it as I did reading it. Mustang, Maes, Al, Marcoh, and Ed all had twists and attributes to them that enriched their traits more so than usual, which is not an easy task. The plot twist, like the plot in general, was great - plot twists out of nowhere never were my thing, but in this, you played it off really well. You sold the point that they never saw it coming, and that's where most writers see their downfall - they overplay the action but they mellow out the reaction. The reaction is what I'm remembering in this, leading to me crying twice in one chapter; Ed's struggle to get used to this reality and Mustang's incredibly complex emotions to this whole situation peaking at that struggle were poetic in how impactful they were together on paper. Hughes is gonna be interesting in a chapter or two, I'm sure of it! This is solid writing that has brought me to tears more than just in this chapter - its a grim dark work with a true heart to it. I love this thing! Thank you for writing it! You could have spent these hours binging other anime, but instead, you're hear entertaining internet peoples with reviews as you're only reward - so thank you for as much as it's worth. I love your work! Can't wait for more! This is a good one:)

Well. Roy really needs a hug now... you enjoyed writing every moment of this, didn’t you? Squeezing years of torture and brainwashing into one convenient chapter. Mmmmhm. You know, dragon Roy’s upbringing is one of those things that I realized was bad, but didn’t necessarily want to go through. Know what I mean? But I suppose it was necessary for Maes. Hopefully he can somehow use this info to get to Roy. And I also hope things aren’t so tragic on Ed’s end. Maybe everything went really well a Marcoh’s place,

He only got 6 years? And even then was technically too young for the military in the first place? DUDE.

Of course I still have other questions, but one I really want answered is... how does Chris Mustang play into all of this?

I'd expected them to demand to hear from Roy himself that he didn't want them there rather than demanding to SEE him, since that seemed like a more reasonable thing to expect Roy to do when he's so panicked like that... but, well, they got what they wanted. Also, I think Roy (and Ed, though I get why he's going in at the "you're still human" angle) is forgetting that the human part isn't what really matters in this situation, but that he's still himself, the same person (being?)! His friends are still going to fight for him!
