Reviews for Pale Blue Dot
MarioDS01 chapter 1 . 3/5
Great alternative end to the series. I guess adding the plot of a civilization trying to find a new home helped and tied in with the main plot of bring the crew back home, even the added ending helped.

Surprised the Spore Drive from Star Trek Discovery is mentioned in this story. You would think it would of been forgotten or something, but did notice the ship is not mentioned.

Not the most exciting alternative end to the series, but still better then Endgame.

That was beautiful. I don't mind having Neelix come to the Alpha quadrant with the rest of the crew because I never really though that, in the episode Homestead, randomly finding a Talaxian colony so far from where it should be was all that plausible. I think that if, say, one were to go back in time and re-do the final episode to be Pale Blue Dot, you would also have to re-configure the seventh season anyway. Of course, that would be a pretty reckless use of time travel. I did think, at one point in the story, that there would be some reason Voyager would not be able to take off in time for the transport, some damage or something, which would have set up a dilemma because they would not have been able to do the self destruct without destroying the Casarrin, so they would have had to leave the ship intact.

Very good. I liked this a lot.

Sevens toy seemed really out of character for her, but she was trying and the so I can see where you are coming from. Also from experience I would guess the B'Elanna reactions to stressful stuff right after giving birth may have been a bit muted, with after pregnancy hormones (human) raging, add a bit of uncertainty of Klingon biology, I think her reaction to Admiral Paris especially would have been hotter. Other then at this is a great story, I love what you done with the idea. I love the subplot you add and the naming thing was great. Thank you for the great story.

This... wow!
I have read the entire story in one go and I am at a loss for words.
I came here from Steve's videos where he linked to your approach to „Pale Blue Dot“ and I probably had one of the most enjoyable times ever reading a fanfiction online.

Your story was, above all, most satisfying to read. You certainly did the characters and all their little quirks and nuances justice! (I laughed so hard in the first few paragraphs when everyone was acknowledging Janeway's orders, and Paris answered nonchalantly with his usual „yes ma'am!“. You know, when you hear the characters actually say the words in your head while you read it, you really did a great job at writing!)

The Chershinkord plot was a great addition – it gave the crew something meaningful to do, while waiting for a way to get home, and entwining two plots in one „episode“ basically is, what Star Trek episodes are all about, so you did a great job there, too! I love how the concept of „finding home“ and the „Pale Blue Dot“ build a continuous thread throughout the story, just popping up here and there as a gentle reminder instead of being obnoxious in any way – well done!

Another great detail I loved was the concept of having to explain „minutes“ to a completely different race with different concepts of measurement. It is easy to overlook these fine details and I am really glad you took the time to address it.

Long story short: Thank you for writing this. This is an end worthy of Voyager.

This was absolutely amazing! It felt true to all the characters and truly was a better ending that Voyager had. Thank you for writing and sharing it with us, and I'm so glad that I watch Steve's videos, otherwise I might never had stumbled across this wonderful fic!
Joshua Godfrey chapter 1 . 5/26/2019
Just finished reading this (which I did, coincidentally, at the same day/time that Voyager used to air in my local market), and all I can say is: this is beautiful.
Eric Beyer chapter 1 . 5/25/2019
Nice work. I liked the ending especially. But by the last episode, Neelix had left the ship to join his people on the asteroid base. He was barely in comms range by the end of the series. If he is to go to Earth, that needs to be explained in the story.
BJ Hanssen chapter 1 . 5/24/2019
Well this was just beautiful. Thank you for writing it, and thanks to Steve Shives for inspiring it. Unlike him (and apparently yourself) I am a big Voyager fan, and honestly... this was perfect.
sweetcandie53 chapter 1 . 5/23/2019
What an entertaining read! I found it to be very Voyager like, I am happy I read this. It would of made a wonderful conclusion to the series, thank you.
malachixx chapter 1 . 5/23/2019
Never having been a fan of Voyager, but having seen most of the episodes, I was supremely disappointed in the episode Endgame. It contradicted everything the series had tried to say. This is how the series should have ended. It was much truer to all the themes and stories ever told. Well Done!
potterfanxp123 chapter 1 . 5/22/2019
Amazing. I've seen that Not Actually Trek, Actually myself, and found Pale Blue Dot sad, and comforting, so to see your interpretation written out like this was... well sad, and comforting. I think this would have been a wonderful final episode, and feel honored to have read it. Thank you.
Samaritan Prime chapter 1 . 5/22/2019
Beautiful. Just... beautiful.

I loved this story. Nice alternate ending!
Alex W chapter 1 . 5/8/2019
Loved the story, esp the humour.

I want a plasmicophonic ferrangulator. I reckon it'd come in handy if I'm ever on a plane with broken phalange.
