This is a great chapter. I would love to see what happens next when Hermione gets the Map taken away from Harry. Is Sirius then trapped in Azkaban because they have no ability to go back in time or does Dumbledore do more to actually get him free. Without Crookshanks defending Sirius, does Harry actually try and kill him? I think this would be a really cool departure point from an AU story and I like that everyone involved is actually extremely in character. I can see Ron getting so upset that he goes to McGonagall and Hermione stubbornly maintaining that she was in the right and using Harry's map as a means of getting back into the good graces of McGonagall

Rita is still quite the bitch, it is highly unpleasant to see her win like this. Makes me wish that the murderous Hermione from an earlier chapter comes for a visit to ensure that Rita won't ever be a problem again :-)

This really feels incomplete, I would love to see the repercussions of this.

This is a super-interesting concept set. So many opportunities to explore how things could have gone differently if JKR had tighter morals about abuse amongst other things. Great job on this, curious to see if you come up with more. Thanks for your hard work on it so far.
