This is actually my first time ever reading fanfiction but I gotta say this was really well done. Admittedly there were some minor moments that seemed a little off, particularly with certain bits of dialogue that made me think “that character would never say that”. And that whole “butt search” section was pretty immature I must say (although I gotta admit, rocket using his knowledge of Pym Particles to create tiny weapons of mass destruction is both totally in character and a really clever use of continuity).
But the moment that stood out the most to me, and more than made up for any flaws, was the heart to heart moment with rocket and Quill. It just brings up a point that I hope the next set of post-Endgame movies address. And that’s about some of the major consequences that the snap had, specifically with how much pain and trouble it brought both those who were lost and came back and those that were left to deal with the repercussions. It would be horrible enough to die and come back only to find out that your friends have long moved on from you and learned to live without you, all the while from your perspective your previous life was an instant ago. Nut then you take into account those that had to suffer for 5 years in a world left half empty, it really adds dimensionality to the whole situation.
And another thing I think you deserve credit for is way you addressed something I wouldn’t have ever even considered, which is the parallels between rocket losing Groot and getting another version of him back in the first Guardians movie and Quill experiencing the same thing, losing Gamora in Infinity War and then getting her back later on. I doubt this was ever intentional, but it’s just brilliant that you were able to think it up when, again, I would’ve never put two and two together.
Not to mention the way you added in a bit of typical Guardians-style sarcastic “I’m saying this to make fun of you even though I truly care about you” type humor. This felt very real and true to the characters and prevented the exchange from going full sappy melodrama.
Overall, really solid job writing this. I genuinely wish that some version final exchange with Quill and Rocket makes it into Guardians 3. If you took the time to read this, I really appreciate it. Take care and keep doing what you’re doing!

And not gonna lie; Rocket, Thor and Nebula are my new favourite trio. The Guardians are always fun of course, but now these three have something so much deeper than even that connecting them now.

Thank you for this. I was really hoping that I'd get to see a post-Endgame scenario from you, and you have no idea how happy it made me to see this story. You make me feel so validated in my intense emotional connection to Rocket. ;D He's the heart of the team, hands down.

surprisingly in character also thors current weapon is storm breaker, not Mjölnir, Steve took Mjolnir back to the past.
