This dialogue is so beautifully in character, especially between Grace and Jane, who always had a particular kind of comunication.
But I find myself slightly conflicted after reading your story ... is it a positive or negative comment on Jane? Food for thought.

Believable if rare moment when Jane reveals something of himself. Your point - no one is unaffected after being kidnapped, tortured, and nearly killed - is well taken. Nice device to use the files the team reviewed to solve the case.
