Reviews for The Wisdom of Mrs Collins
Guest chapter 7 . 8/21
Thankyou for this charming story! It was a perfect Friday night treat. Love Charlotte and hope Georgina will too.
Hiniwalay chapter 2 . 7/24
Your wisdom knows no bounds!
Hiniwalay chapter 1 . 7/24
“"Proposed to by an intelligent, honorable, and handsome man. Informed of his ardent love and admiration. Yes, you have endured much suffering today." Charlotte's voice was harsh.” Ow-ouch.
Xena Anne chapter 7 . 6/9
After the Huntsford proposal, Charlotte shares her wisdom with both Elizabeth and Darcy, leading them both to new understandings - understanding both themselves and the other much better. Charlotte's thorough comparison between the Bennets' behavior and that of the ton is the best that I've read. The Bennets do not come up lacking.

I loved Georgiana's setdown of Miss Bingley. I hope there's a sequel of the Bennet and Bingley sisters sojourn in Brighton.

Thank you Wade, for another delightful story.
Aprilborn chapter 2 . 6/3
A few words in defence of Col. Fitzwilliam: Charlotte is not entirely right about his fortune-hunting ways, I think. He doesn't actually speak much about marrying for money, he only mentions it once, in a private conversation with Lizzy while they walk about the park at Rosings, and does not discuss it publicly at all. He doesn't even go right out and say, "Sorry, I only have serious intentions for women with a certain net worth." His is more of a gentle hint, "Younger sons cannot marry where they like." And then, "There are not many in my rank of life who can afford to marry without some attention to money." That's literally all that was ever said on the topic. The rest is extrapolation.
In support of the charming Col. Fitz, he never even says he personally intends to follow this route, he mentions "younger sons", "not many in my rank of life" in a general way. Honestly, people in ANY rank of life could not usually afford to marry without attention to money. "Some attention to money" is hardly the attitude of a mercenary fortune hunter, to me it's mere prudence, the same kind of prudence that Mrs. Gardiner had demonstrated when she was warning Lizzy against attaching herself to Wickham. Another thing: to me, this whole exchange has always felt as if the Colonel was letting Lizzy down gently. As if he noticed her attraction and wanted to put a stop to it without hurting her feelings. Like, so sorry, it's not you, girl, it's me; I like you a lot, I just cannot afford to marry.
In other respects I like your story a great deal, especially the reality check Elizabeth received from Charlotte. Great job!

My, my, my! This is an amazing piece of work. I liked it a lot the way every character change. Georgiana, omg, that was so powerful and unique, and dear Charlotte, thank God she is a person with more sense that Darcy and Elizabeth!

random-k chapter 1 . 4/30
I like the points Charlotte made. I think this one was my favorite

""No, perhaps he shouldn't have but nor should you. What's worse, you still have not accepted my choice. You do not disguise your disdain, or your pity, as well as you might think. I do not require your pity, Eliza. In truth, that is more hurtful than the sport or mirth you continue to find in my situation.""
MrsFH chapter 7 . 4/8
Great retelling of the story! I loved how you developed both Charlotte and Georgina’s characters just enough so that each could affect the main characters without changing too much. Thanks for sharing your story here.
