I just finished reading your story and wanted to let you know I liked it. It’s not so easy to find stories with Nico in it, but she’s such a cool character. And I don’t mind her and Dante being on a date, why not? :)

As DMC5 is so very dark, it’s nice to see the characters having fun and their lifes returning to normal again. And whatever happens in this messed-up date, they ARE enjoying themselves, they can’t deny that! I hope Nico gets home safely and will restore her relationship with Dante again. They should at least stay friends.

Also, your writing style is a real pleasure, it never gets boring. And you hit the characters quite right. Sometimes, Dante seemed just a bit too dumb to me. He usually acts stupid because it keeps life easy for him, but in some moments he lets it show that he’s actually a smart man. But I agree he’s sometimes very bad at giving his attentions to the right things. ;)

Hey, I know a lot of dogs called Nero, but not one called Dante! Doesn’t matter: I liked how he approved of this little fellow trying to bite him, haha.

And I know that ESC song, oddly enough, I have it in my playlist for DMC stories as well. xD

You wouldn't find me going on a midnight walk in Redgrave... or even a walk during the day! I would have thought Nico would have actually been more grateful to Dante for what he did, but I guess being grossed out trumps everything. Surely that's not the end of their love story, just the closing of a chapter.

Wow, you did it! Congratulations.
I liked the scene on the cemetery with the Empusa, very much. I was torn between my sympathy for Nico and my enthusiasm for the clueless devil hunter.
Since the first chapter we knew how much Nico hated these crawlers. Poor woman. Being sprayed with demon intestines in the middle of the cemetery was definitely at the top of her "Nope!"-list.
This date was a flop, but it is something they both can always remember (whether it's good or bad thing, we'll never know ;) ).
Anyway, Nico was SO short in stealing a kiss from her crush. Which woman can say that about herself?

The other half of this chapter shows again what interesting humor you have.
I couldn't stop grinning. This whole scene was so typical of Dante. What makes me laugh again, even if I only think about it...is the end.
It's just a single word, but that word and Dante's extravagant pose, which you automatically visualize, is just perfect.

You manage to make people laugh with such a little thing. Others need whole pages and visual support through a PowerPoint presentation for this (including me).
It is almost a pity that the date-catastrophe is now over.
But only almost... because now you can concentrate on other things.

Whoa! (I just went and saw The Matrix on the big screen a few nights ago ;) ). I did not know that about Nico and Dante. It's good that it got addressed and Dante doesn't have to worry about it anymore. Looks like we have another video game battle coming up... or is it just Nero causing problems? Thanks for all the great writing you do, I'm happy to cheer you on!

How is it that someone as emotionless and stoic as Vergil got lucky with Nero's mother? Even Nero inherited this trait and got lucky with Kyrie. And yet, Dante can't even get first the first date?! I guess their luck goes in opposite spectrums lol.

Don't worry, this chapter was great! For someone who cared about Dante paying attention to Nico, Papa Giuseppe didn't then care about spoiling Dante's moment with her, guess he cares about his pizza creations that much. The foot massage thing is another thing that made me think of Pulp Fiction. And Papa Giuseppe said "Mamma mia!", I wonder if the Italian chef on The Simpsons is his brother.

Honey, this chapter is definitely too short. I've read it twice and still think it's great.
Your talent to juggle effortlessly between long and short sentences makes me a little envious. And that wording...uh... I love it. Needless to mention how much I enjoy reading your stories. ;)
Each of your chapters is a bit different and I never have the feeling that you are repeating yourself, I find that particularly fascinating. Good work, my friend.

How does Dante manage that? He behaves like a thoughtless idiot, and yet I can't be angry with him? Damn you, you charming half-demon!

Finally, I am allowed to take a look at Nico's vulnerable side. What I like is, that you didn't push it too far, but only scratched the surface. Which I think is a very good idea, because too much wouldn't have fit into this kind of story.
No, she was so close! Shame on whatever just destroyed Nico's kiss!

I know exactly how you feel, my dear friend. Suddenly running into a wall in the middle of a chapter is one of the worst things that can happen to you. Still, I think that you did a great job with this one, too.
Dante's "Food before Pleasure"-Rule made me laugh. Oh. dear. This man should definitely reconsider his priorities. By now, I think even Papa Giuseppe is more successful with women than this bonehead of a devil hunter. The old man is simply wonderful and the banters between him and Dante are my favorite lines in this chapter. :) The dance scene with Dr. Faust could have ended much worse. Nico should be glad that she only hurt her ankle and that Dante didn't accidentally shoot her with red orbs. xD
The only one who is a little ooc, in my opinion, is our crazy mechanic. Sexy is just not her thing, I think. But what does woman not do, to attract the attention of a handsome semi-demon.
Poor Nico has taken on so much, hopefully she will at least be rewarded for her patience. Seriously, can the date get any worse? The only catastrophe that could top that would be if Lady and Trish suddenly came through the door.
Don't be upset about this chapter. Comedy is a very difficult genre and I've met only a few writers here who capture the humor of DMC as well as you do. I really liked it and I laughed a lot while reading it. So chin up, adjust your crown and keep going! ;)

I hate olives as well, gahh, they're terrible! What are the odds of Giuseppe saying "Mamma Mia!" At some point? Interesting Dante is basically having a dessert before the main course, I wonder if that's a pizzeria thing.

A bit of a quiet chapter after all that action in the last one. I guess Nero reacted instinctively about the marshmallows, I think if he had his time over again he would have allowed Lady a bit more leeway after being attacked. Then again, marshmallows ARE marshmallows... Going for a ride on a motorcycle makes me think of the end of one of the segments of the movie 'Pulp Fiction', and the fact a girl and a guy are going out to eat somewhere makes me think of another one of the segments.

And I just like the way you open it.
It was a wonderful idea to start her merry ride on Dante's Cavaliere. I thought that our technophile Nico would fall in love with this special Devil Arm. We all saw her crazy driving style, so I'm more surprised that she didn't try to persuade Dante to drive down a cliff or something. xD
Maybe it's because she's head over heels into this hunter. She is so decent and nice. If only Nero could see her like that, he would either tease her or simply wouldn't believe it.
I bet Papa Guiseppe was a real womanizer in his youth, as attentive and courteous as he treated Nico. Quite the contrast to Nico's hot date. Dante, how can you behave so stupidly? How typical for Sparda's sons, the world revolves only around them.
Hopefully Nico will give him a piece of her mind, very soon.

You've already heard it from me but still: I adore your Nico and really enjoy the way you write her. So, I am happy to see the "Sweetcake" again in this chapter.
I love how seamlessly these chapters merge into each other, although the atmospheres between the last and this one, couldn't have been more different.
The second one was packed with action and danger and this one changes back into a more lighthearted mood. You make it look so simple. I am jealous!
So far I've never thought Nero to be a guy who turns all red in embarrassment. But it suits him and once again shows a completely different facet of his character.
Dante is so charming and self-confident. No wonder that Nico has her eyes on him.
I like your humor, it really fits into the World of Devil May Cry and the jokes and cheesy one-liners seem so natural. :)

I can totally picture all of this unfolding within a video game. Nero reminded me of The Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail - "It's only a flesh wound!" I guess the song name titles are gonna keep coming.

Holy shit, how much time did you spend in the Void with that sickle-swinging Judecca? All the attack patterns and parades felt so real. I got angry just from reading and would have probably thrown my controller if I had one in my hand.
You put so much love into the choreography and details. I can imagine that this task was not an easy one.
Someday Nero will get a seizure if he keeps getting so angry. xD I love it.
I still find the idea of a potential romance between Nico and Dante a little strange, but I willingly let myself convinced the contrary.
It is exciting that this chapter is so different from the first one. I don't prefer either of them, it just makes me curious to see what happens next.

The only thing I know about Devil May Cry is that they are video games, so I am approaching this with a huge blank slate. Is this Red Queen sword a sentient being? Made me think of that singing sword scene in 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit?'. Being music minded, I wonder if, with a character called Nico, there will be any references to The Velvet Underground. This Redgrave City sounds like a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there... actually, scratch that 'nice place to visit' bit as well.
