I've read this several times because the descriptions are so rich and gorgeous and I'm so sorry it took me so long to review this. I adore all sorts of GO fics, but I especially love stories that remind us readers that Aziraphale and Crowley are immortal, powerful beings that you really, really shouldn't mess with.

The descriptions of Aziraphale's divine power were beautiful and terrifying. I live in the south and we get some very extreme, wicked storms down here, including tornadoes. The hours before a storm hits the weather is often clear and beautiful and when it does start to shift into a particularly violent storm you can *smell* the electricity in the air and feel the barometric pressure change. It's hard to describe but you just *know* when all hell's about to break loose and a tornado is about to it. That's what Aziraphale reminds me of in this story; a summer storm that both brings life through rain and destruction. You did an amazing job of conveying Aziraphale's power here and I loved every word of it.

I thought it was so fascinating, and really telling of their friendship, that Crowley offered to kill the humans so that Aziraphale wouldn't have to. Neither of them enjoy violence and killing, but that doesn't mean that they'll hesitate when it comes to protecting each other and people they care about. Crowley is far more concerned here about the emotional fallout afterwards as he knows Aziraphale doesn't like killing. I don't think Crowley does either, of course, but I think the latter would have less emotional and mental torment over killing such evil men than perhaps Aziraphale.

"And demons run when a good angel goes to war." That is a brilliant line to end this story with; it reminds me of that old saying, "There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man". That's exactly fits this story here.

I'd love to see a possible sequel to this dealing with the mental and emotional fallout if you ever decide to revisit this. Well done!

This story has a power that I can physically feel. Just so much power radiating off Aziraphale. Avenging angel. He doesn't need to have a flaming sword because that really is what he is. We see him as a shield, but right now, he's a sword that will cut down any evil.

Wow, I admit I wasn't expecting that! I don't really view Aziraphale like that (I've quite adopted Sheen's performance as the only canon, now I can't remember Book!Aziraphale...) But I really like Crowley as a gentle and reassuring woman who trust his angel to deal with the situation :) Although I would have gendered him as a woman, then, I think Anyway, Badass!Aziraphale is really scary x)

Excellent! I love how gradually Aziraphale grows brighter throughout. Such vivid descriptions! I also love how chill Crowley is about the whole thing. And the reference to the ww2 bunker... i admit to being quite curious. I’m so glad you wrote this story: everyone seems to forget that Aziraphale is an ANGEL, and angels are something to be afraid of.

Oh where to begin? I love when writers show this side of Aziraphale, and you've done it so so well. And the last line is perfect.

Um, of course I loved this! Dang, there's nothing I love more than seeing my nice, soft bois turn into total badasses. Very satisfying and totally epic. I loved the imagery (and a lovely fan art to go along with it)
Also did you just casually mention Aziraphale taking out Hitler and his generals because I totally approve of that head canon.

the little bookshop keeper can be badass when he needs to be. This was amazing. Kinda read it all in a rush because I just couldn't seem to stop. And that last line is excellent!
