Her power is that she is what she is viewed to be, someone already wrote a fic like this called memetic me on sufficient velocity. Also, worm is not as flexible as you seem to think, a power like this would never appear in worm because powers are meant to be data gathering experiments and an experiment that dies before any data can be collected would be a crappy experiment. That is why there is the manton effect, which protects users from their own powers and also usually imposes a restriction to make people be creative with their use.

If it's a power based on her body being affected by what's gossiped about her, or something in that vein, then this is going to go very poorly for everyone involved

That was actually a decent start of a story. I can't wait to see what power she actually got and how are you going to make it awesome.

I am thinking it is like an empathic power except she exhibits what is happening to people like if she is near someone that is having a heart attack she has one.

Really hope her power isn't one that turns rumor into fact. Granted, if that were the case, then she can't really be blamed for the whole thing, but still. How would one even control such a power let alone exploit it for beneficial applications? Then again, what happened during the car chase makes me wonder if either her power is something else or she unintentionally stopped "fighting" a rumor.

Very intersting start, looking forward to seeing where this goes.
There is a very good chapter and arc summary on Spacebattles that gives a very brief and basic one line overview of each chapter, which may be useful.
However, this is fanfiction and you should feel free to write the characters and plot however you wish.
Definitely watched to see what happens!

Considering that they view her as a threat of that magnitude I imagine that they’d investigate her background more thoroughly and discover that Shadow Stalker was bullying her and almost killed her (assuming it’s the same trigger event). That being said don’t make them immediately decide that she was targeting a Ward and completely disregard all other possibilities.

I’m curious to see where this story goes. I admit I’m a little confused about what her power could be because this disease doesn’t seem to match her description unless people’s opinions of her affect her health.

It’s a little surprising that there first thought to learning that she is a Parahuman is to believe she created this new disease. I mean, I can see where they are coming from and I can understand it, but it still seems weird.
