I'm very interested to know if Evelyn is using Legilimancy intentionally or if her magic is just reaching out in any way possible, considering her "saving people thing." I'm also hoping, slightly sadistically, that the last words in chapter 3 are something along the lines of, "Hermione snarled and stretched out her arms, intent on strangling Evelyn." Mind you, I'm only interested in that because you mentioned it as Hermione's method of dealing with her... Anyway, keep up the great work, and I hope to see more in this story soon! |

I see that some people commented about why Gandalf an co being soft with the magic. You likely already know given why, given what you wrote here, so this is for their benefit, I guess. The Istari are a group of Maiar (think Arc Angel level being) sent out into world to guide it and prepare it for facing Sauron's forces. They were forbidden from cutting loose. Whatever was to happen had to be done by the hands of the people of Arda. Hence why they took the forms of wise men so they could guide the people who could make a difference. Seriously, an unrestricted Gandalf could sing just one little tune and those 10,000 orcs would find their heads exploding. |
