I'm thoroughly enjoying this story! Princess Mononoke is one of my favorite Hayao Miyazaki films too!

Pieces falling in line for Johan's plans and what Mala wants to get out of this 'partnership'.

Still see a big double-cross coming and those they are going to kill may be what saves Mala and her outpost.

But maybe Astrid has found a way to cure the curse, then she and Hiccup may stop this war.

Such a crossfire of emotions hitting him right now.

With what had happened, what is going on to heal him some, the despairing feeling that this is for nothing and that a complete stranger who had wanted him dead, is showing him compassion when he feels he is undeserving of it.

I think each can teach the other much, if they will listen.

But there's that curse he's got...which may make this all moot.
