Yes it was a headache but you are still an annoying blue jay

Every so often I stumble on a line in a fic that strikes me to my core, a piece if imagery that sticks with me days after reading. I find myself finding these lines all throughout this piece, all these strong descriptions that I think about often. Your writing is compelling and enthralling, and I'm an instant fan.

This line in particular, "He stays like that, his arms trembling where they're planted in the earth before him, his breath coming in harsh gasps. He digs his fingers into the dirt, watching the grassroots and dark silt stain around his fingers." Sticks with me, I can almost feel the turmoil and fear myself. I can see this clearly in my head, the desperation of this moment... its amazingly well written! I find this very in character and an incredible read.

Wow. This is amazing. There’s no other word I can use to describe this. Many people don’t delve into stuff like this especially with Zane, but you did and it was absolutely perfect. I never saw Zane to be one haunted by a past but yet again I never expected him to become evil either ah HA ha. Anyways this was overall amazing and in depth, I felt this deep in my soul. A beautiful fanfic filled with not only suffering but also healing.

Oh Zane... Actually, oh everyone. Like, I can’t even imagine that trauma. It wasn’t just Lloyd fighting Zane him getting hurt by him and everyone having to deal with it. I feel like at some point someone is gonna ask, why do we look to this guy who seems to be the root of all our problems? Everything seems to go back the FSM.

Hey can you do another Lloyd and akita thing with the theme of love maybe.

Oh where to begin on this lovely fic...

I love the way you write Zane. I know you say you struggle with him, but honestly his mannerisms and narrative voice are flawless here. I love his distress over his hands, as well as the repeated references to them throughout the fic.

Also, you always deliver the goods when it comes to Ninjago. I would've specified with angst, but you honestly deliver the whole package. This is a wonderful aftermath fic that both address and deals with the many /many/ grievances the story caused, and it's filled with as much love as it is sadness. All the family moments are great. It's so clear that they love each other and they're trying to take care of each other, but Zane just keeps slipping on the pain. It's a fantastic read, and so sad.

(sidenote: THANK you for addressing the sleeveless Cole issue. That's been niggling at me since the beginning of the Ice Chapter)

Zane's sadness and terror are so visceral in this fic, and I loved how you wrote him dealing/not dealing with his actions. Also, that "Perhaps memory loss was the easier route." sentence really punches. Good job. I'm in pain.

Pixal's conversation with Zane was also a great scene. You write them both so well. I also loved how Kai and Lloyd couldn't escape the angst train either. It makes sense, but I had to smile when it happened (through the tears, might I add. That scene and Zane's reaction was /heartbreaking/ thank you very much).

THe ending is the most satisfying part to this, though (again with the hands! I loved everything about that). The relief is almost tangible, and I love that everyone is holding hands as one battered, bruised, but whole family. It's lovely. This is a wonderful, beautiful fic.

SERIOUSLY! THIS, THIS . . . BEST THING EVER! Man so much good stuff here I can't even begin to name it all. I love Zane's reactions. Pixar is always awesome in your capable hands. Lloyd, my poor Lloyd, he really never gets a break but man, does he know when and where to hit when he needs to. That bit to Kai was perfection and of course Kai and Zane . . . I have hearts in my eyes for that scene. But yeah, it's interesting because out of everyone, Lloyd would know how Zane feels because of his experiences and Kai would know the guilt because of his actions. And wow, okay, it looks like they are taking turns getting brainwashes and/or trying to kill Lloyd. And Lloyd being Lloyd is all like, eh, it happens. Man, I love it. I love how they all come together to help and how Kai is protective and Cole is a good leader/eldest brother and Jay, it wouldn't be complete without one of Jay's lame jokes, lol! I want to print this out so I can give it a hug. Fantastic!

Your stories are always filled with so many emotions. The way you convey them is amazing and it's like I'm feeling the same emotions of the characters. Amazing job.

Cole having no sleeves throughout the entire Ice chapter always bothered me, because there's no way he wouldn't get frostbite if the place is in enternal winter, GAH! I was hoping someone like Sorla or a villager would sew some nice fluffy sleeves onto his gi but nope, he sleeveless D:

And Zane..yeah he has got to be traumatized after all that :( though.. isn't he also the one directly responsible for the death of Krags family? And was it actually decades? Because wow, that's many maaany years of sucky memories to try and forget ;0;

Poor Zane! These feelings were probably there but not expressed in the show but they were beautifully written right here.
I love the comparison with Chens staff. It's sad that was never touched upon again.
The injuries were very realistic as well and ahhh. This was amazing loved it (like always).
