I think you made the right decision bringing it back to the present! This chapter was so cute. I love how much Chopper is thinking about Zoro and I love that Zoro takes his promises seriously.

Cute. I never considered that Chopper faked the tears. I always assumed they were real because it hurts Chopper not to be able to take care of someone who is sick or injured the same way it hurts Sanji to let anyone go hungry.

That being said, the second part of this story was the best because I just love Zoro and Chopper nakamaship. I feel like Zoro is at his most intentionally kind when dealing with Chopper.
