Reviews for Atlas Arc
sdphantom10 chapter 14 . 7/28
Ahhh... delicious drama and agony tastes so much sweeter when it comes around so well like this
0akarigan0 chapter 14 . 7/28

Guest chapter 14 . 7/28
Dang this hit hard :(
Argus456 chapter 14 . 7/28
*sigh* It appears there's nothing that Jaune could have said to bring Ilia back, especially with her emotions still raw from her parent's death and after the fight with that really weird grimm thing, Jaune finally broke down.

Still, I guess this means that Jaune will undoubtedly be more keen on signing up for missions concerning the White Fang in the hopes of catching Illia and stopping her...once he's a fully licensed huntsman that is.

Hmm, wonder if that's how he encounters Blake...

Orca Twoshot chapter 14 . 7/28
Nice. I would like to see this and the previous chapter in arc-ventures. Would be interesting to read the reactions on that Grimm and Ilia's reveal. Keep up the good work!
9foxgrl chapter 11 . 7/21
Ooh poor Marrow, they will either become the best of freinds and give the future AceOps hell together or he will be traumatized.
thermitetriggered762 chapter 13 . 7/12
damn.
RenegadeForLife chapter 9 . 7/7
Not to agree with the shadowy bad guy but Jillian was kind of a disappointment. Didn't really live up to the tragic villain role. She came off more as a crazy murderer who didn't really care about anything other than hurting people to make herself feel better. She's constantly blaming others for how awful she is. Even as she died she never took an ounce of responsibility. Kind of like Hazel except even more self righteous.
WearyCurmudgeon chapter 13 . 7/5
- Emerald & Ilia
Still a little sadist I see, even if she's on the "good guys" side now.

But Qrow saying she'll be going to Atlas is a surprise.

Prometheus or the Atlas Academy? That's the major question. Prometheus still makes her eligible for Beacon and the spot on what would've otherwise been JNPR. If it's the Academy, then the spot could be taken by Ilia, if she didn't turn White Fang and simply having had enough of the racism in Atlas and continuing her schooling elsewhere.

Canonically, Velvet has a similar tale, no pun intended. Too much racism in the part of Mistral where she hails from, so she enrolled in Vale's second combat school Pharos, met and befriended Coco and the two then went to Beacon together.

Ilia going to Beacon could net her a GF as well, as again, canonically Coco is just like Ilia a lesbian. No guarantees of course, relationships and attraction are always dicey like that.

But I don't recall any of the Atlas folks being gay. Some hints that one of the Happy Huntresses (the Little John counterpart) may be, and one was confirmed as transgender (Marigold IIRC, the Alan A'Dale counterpart, I think). But that's about it.

The Kingdom of Atlas isn't exactly the most tolerant place in Remnant imnsho.

So going to Vale would up her chances at finding a romantic partner.

Knowing that her best friend would be teaching there, might also be appealing as it offers further protection from racist bullies.

As you've made it clear that he likes to blow up folks like that, to get them to behave.

*shrugs*

Lot of angles possible, wait and see which one you'll pick.

- Whitley
Know you had to adapt it to fit the more detailed over all story. But I think the original was a bit more punchy than this one. Bit more crisp.

But that could be a personal taste issue.

*shrugs*

- Family
Know that Jaune was off his game, due to his unfamiliarity with this type of dysfunctional dynamic.

But he kinda missed two bits when he pointed out that blood doesn't dictate what is family.

Two people coming together to form a family, whether that be husband and wife (his own parents), wife and wife (Saffron and Terra) or husband and husband is irrelevant. Well, the couple in question isn't blood related, but they're still creating a family.

Then there's the adoption angle. Qrow and Emerald or Summer and Yang. Not a drop of blood relation, yet still family.

So yeah, Klein can very much be family, more so than the rest.

A similar dynamic to Alfred Pennyworth and Bruce Wayne, if you will.

- Mine Inspection
That mine collapse that canonically killed Ilia's parents wasn't caused by White Fang explosives, was it?

As this seems like a near perfect storm. Near perfect, as because if they were only heavily wounded, than Jaune could theoretically unlock their Aura and then use his Semblance to supercharge it and heal them, like he canonically did for Weiss at the battle for Haven.

Which would further tie her to Jaune, yeah those supposed human friends were heckling her for being faunus and (nearly) losing her parents.

But it was her human best friend and brother in all but blood Jaune who saved them.

That kinda tempers the whole White Fang recruitment pitch, especially if she were to learn from him that the collapse was caused by the White Fang in the first place.

Still, again wait and see how you spin this.

- Weiss
Ah yes, early days Weiss, the spoiled princess. Joy...

Still from the reaction thread it was pretty clear she hated his guts, but still doing so after he saves her life, when her own stupidity was the root cause of the danger she was in?

I really don't have the words for this situation. Ungrateful brat is about the most polite and intelligible way I could express my views of this type of behaviour.

And it just further reinforces my dislike for the Tsundere archetype.

*shakes head*
