Reviews for When Houses Collide
An Preson Peepul chapter 11 . 9/27
Finally had the time to drop everything and catch up. It seems the story is moving at a faster pace, which is nice. It has given less time for character interactions, though the story is probably going to slow down for the next few chapters to let things simmer, so I'm curious to see where it goes next.
Probably the best three things about the last few chapters were Edelgard, Robin, and Byleth. I already said this is probably the best way I've seen Byleth's mannerisms explained, and having Edelgard make stealing the Sword of the Creator in exchange for helping Robin is also an interesting choice. I liked this battle a lot more than Zando, mostly because of all the character conflict it creates, and Robin was a big part of that. Seeing him talk down Lord Lonato was great, and having Catherine attack him straight after throws everything into a jumble. Giving Ashe, someone who hasn't had much screen time before, a more prominent role was also nice. There are a lot of characters you have to work with, and you've done good with most of them.
The one complaint I have with the chapter is more of a nitpick: Wouldn't Ashe be called something like "Lord Ashe" or "Lord Gaspard" and not "Lord Lonato"? I'm pretty sure Lonato is a name, not a title to be passed down.
Really invested in seeing how the aftermath plays out in the next chapter. Hopefully I'll be able to come around sooner next time. Until then, stay safe, and keep up the good work!
An Preson Peepul chapter 10 . 9/27
Was planning on just reviewing the 11th chapter, but holy peck was that an opening. As someone who doesn't often peep into the world of Three Houses fanfiction, it isn't much, but I really love how you explain the inner workings of Byleth not being able to express herself. As much as I didn't like the "Lucina getting killed" bit in the last chapter, those opening few segments more than make up for it!
Rationalism chapter 11 . 8/25
lmao. by trying to off robin, rhea has gotten on no less than 4 shitlists. talk about an unforced error
Dcraus chapter 1 . 8/25
I wonder everyone reaction of
Robin Ignis and Corrin Dragon Form.
Metal Vile chapter 10 . 8/8
Looks like Rhea plans to have Robin offed during the fighting... which is going to play right into Edelgard's hands.

Congratulations, Archbishop; you played yourself.
Raj8 chapter 10 . 8/8
Wow, I certainly wasn't expecting Edelgard to admit to her past to Robin in the C rank conversation. I have to admit I laughed at Robin claiming to have no blood relations to kings due to his father and Grima, but it's certainly interesting to see their friendship develop.

People other than Byleth remembering the time travel remains interesting and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I imagine you'll sharply limit the amount of times they can do it. Just to make sure events like Jeralt's death can still potentially happen along with losses for Byleth in general.
BlackSakura-chi chapter 10 . 8/6
Reading a bit of Tactics Collide, I kinda hope you incorporate hints of Corrin and Robin's relationship here. Like first of all, no to Edelgard X Robin! I understand how she's trying to find out Robin's origins but like, you know, what if it develops something more? It'd be nice as well if people get surprised about Corrin and Robin's relationship status (it'll be more funny with their children involved lol).
Guest since ch1 chapter 10 . 8/6
Man I was waiting for the Edelgard and Robin conversations and you delivered in spades. I cannot wait for Robin's reaction to Edelgard's story.

If I recall, Tiki is recruited during the Walhart Arc. So I would like to see Robin bring up the different leaderships he has seen from Chrom to Validar, if the Validar encounter has happened.

I am also very interested in Tiki's takes with Seteth and Rhea. Tiki's unmoving resolve about the divine dragons should leave humanity to their own devices is great. Especially because of her experience with not just Marth. But after she also moved to the Mila Tree, she knows the story of Valentia with Duma and Mila and how badly that went when they tried to control humanity. It also helps that she is also a religious figure like Rhea but does nothing more than stay at the Tree giving wisdom to travelers that actively seek her out. She never tried to influence politics like Rhea has.

So I am hoping with all of her experience Tiki does not blindly follow Rhea.

Niiice! And that’s Checkmate!
Antex-The Legendary Zoroark chapter 6 . 7/13
Hm! Interesting! Loved this! Well done! I can only guess what Edelgard along with Hubert are planning? And how is Tiki going to treat Robin now that she knows of his Fell Brand? Hmm...
Antex-The Legendary Zoroark chapter 5 . 7/13
Excellent work! Very well written again! I also loved how Sylvain was hoping Dimitri wouldn’t gift Lucina with a dagger, but it seems to have worked out well! A lot better than it did Edelgard back then eh? Lol.

And wow. I never expected such, but Azura and Claude really do have a bit in common!
Antex-The Legendary Zoroark chapter 4 . 7/11
Well now! I have to say that you caught me off guard here multiple times which I must admit can be somewhat hard for others to do! It’s also something that I don’t happen upon as much either. Such as Tiki being concerned and fearful if she’s truly making the right decision when criticizing Rhea and Seteth. I can understand Tiki’s words, but I can also understand Rhea’s point of view as well. Hopefully someway, things will work out. Otherwise... *shudder*

As for Byleth’s observations on each student and abilities, I have to say I enjoyed that as well! It was also good to see that Byleth wanted to be accepted by her students and gain their approval. Shows a lot that even the Ashen Demon, despite her stoicism, likes to feel wanted.

Seeing Leo being nervous, yet also excited on being similar to Camilla, was quite a good part as well. Perhaps it’ll help him (along with Takumi’s goals as well) to get over their "inferiority complexes" taken care of as well.

And I have to admit, why did I not think of Corrin using a Brawling style in the absence of her DragonStone?! Lol. Nice.

To complete this review, also loved how Lucina wanted to learn from a "personal" instructor (unlike back in her world’s future) and Tiki being trained under Rhea of all people! Then again, as Rhea has experience in certain areas like magic and swordplay, I can see that working.

It always surprises me how much you fit into each chapter. When I was 3/4 of the way through, I thought there was no way you'd be able to fit the Zando battle, but lo and behold, I was mistaken.
I'm glad to see more plot development out of the first chapter, especially in the first 3/4 of the chapter. With Edelgard coming to the conclusion of "I must save the White Dragons from Rhea", I'm really interested in seeing how that comes into conflict with the White Dragons' goal of protecting Rhea.
As usual, the character interactions are great. The small moments, like Claude trying to speak Hoshidian with Azura and Takumi or Sylvain egging on Dimitri with innuendos, are fun, but I think the conversation between Byleth and Lucina was especially good with how much they both develop through it. Byleth's insecurity issues feel a little OOC for how she's usually portrayed in the game, but I can see how writing a literal brick wall can be boring, so since it adds a lot to the story, I won't complain.
Aside from the one or two typos scattered throughout the story, like slipping into present tense or repeating words, the only part I have an actual complaint about would be Zando, funny enough. Maybe it's just that the mock battle has raised my expectations a little too high, but Zando feels a little half-arsed compared to the rest of the chapter. Some of the stuff that happens feels forced for the sake of happening, like when Corrin takes a major blow just so Azura can have a dramatic entrance. And that ending really took the whole mood of the chapter for a jarring nose-dive. While Lucina getting killed does raise the stakes for Byleth by quite a lot, it feels like something coming out of nowhere. That, and if Lucina was making mistakes like that in the future, she'd probably be dead by now.
Overall, most of the chapter was great. Despite my gripes, I'm interested in seeing how seeing Lucina getting killed affects Byleth. Keep up the great work, and stay safe!
Antex-The Legendary Zoroark chapter 3 . 7/7
Wow! Good work! I also LOVED how you had Edelgard say the same thing as Chrom once did to Robin! Although it seems she’s jumping to quite the conclusion for the White (still think Silver is better but meh, your story. Lol) Dragons! I wonder...
Antex-The Legendary Zoroark chapter 2 . 7/6
Excellent work! I must say that I am surprised a bit about seeing/reading Corrin wearing shoes! The world must be coming to an end! Lol. Forgive my drama.

I must say that so far this is good. Although I’m hoping to see the "Archaneans" be a bit more subtle. Then again...

Also, I wonder what the Fourth House’s name will be? The Silver Dragons? I like that name!

Also, as this is a spin-off to WTC, will this story have different pairings IF there are any? Just curious.
