Emerald Illusion chapter 22 . 5/27
This fic is amazing! Why aren't there more reviews!?
Hi, I am a huge fan of the character Spain in Hetalia. I found this fic a week ago and started reading it, because of the many historical references I need to search more information to help me understand the whole story, but I enjoyed it a lot. I love Spain, started with the character but gradually the country itself and its history and culture. I'm so glad to found this fic travelling through the whole history and telling stories about what Antonio had experienced. I literally cried when reading these chapters told about Civil War. It's so sad that the nation and many people have to suffer in this cruel disaster. Nobody wins in a war, there is only pain and despair...I felt so heart broken about it. And the part when Antonio talked with the important humans that had a role in his past. The scene is just so touching and heart-wrenching. It's that exact moment I decided to write this review. I haven't finished this fic yet, but it already proved itself a great work! I love it so much!

I actually would like to ask you if I could translate this fic to share with more Hetalia fans (I'm from Taiwan and my first language is Mandarin/Chinese.) If you see this review please reply! Thank you for creating this wonderful story!

I can’t understand why this fic doesn’t have reviews. Like, have you deleted this once and now bringing it back and that’s why all the earlier comments have vanished? C’mon people, give the author credit! You really do deserve them.

I have only read these first three chapters by this far (I am a slow reader), but I have really enjoyed. I have felt like watching a really good historical drama on TV – I see scenes as vivid pictures while I read and that alone is wonderful. I like both your idea (to tell Spain’s history) and the way you do it – although my heart hurts so much because this isn’t in Hetalia style. It’s not a bad thing, not at all, I just like Hetalia’s bright, light and fun atmosphere. I know that the reality beneath it is darker and has more serious stuff, but still.

Oh, but in this fandom there is place and fans for more history-centric fics with serious themes too and I hope you got a lot of readers!

About chapter one. That thought that personifications of nations are born from elements is cool. I would have also thought sun for Spain. And funny but true: I just pondered couple of days ago ‘does Hetalia characters have navel?’ I guess I have to check it now and watch Hetalia over again!

About chapter three. I think there was one misspelled word – at the beginning, where Rome and Hispania practice fighting, there were “firsts” instead of “fists” (? right?) – if you are super perfectionist and want to correct that… But that beside, I was crying at the end where Spain and Reccared talk…! It sure isn’t easy to be soul of land!

Keep up writing. You are doing good.
