The creative team didn't want to move away from Batman stories and get into more Terry in high school. That was an executive demand.

Amazing chapter. It's nice to see Barbara realize her mistakes and as for Terry's family hopefully Terry will find balance.

In the show I always thought his family and Batman where the two things he managed to keep in balance while Dana was always what dropped because as unfortunate as it is being Batman and his family are more important than his highschool girlfriend.

I always thought it was kind of unrealistic that they were still together in the epilogue of JLU one of them would have given up way before then.

Melanie abandoning Batman when she wouldn't abandon Terry is a point against her. Heroes save people, whether or not they personally like whoever it is, they don't leave people in danger. Melanie didn't like Batman, so she abandoned him, which shows she's not trustworthy as a partner in crimefighting. What if next time she leaves the police in a lurch because she holds a grudge against them?
