...wow. This is downright one of the most amazing Fanfics I've read on this site, no joke. The story progression and character growth, along with how the original personalities play out with these new variables all mesh very well. I love it!

I'm always sad though that Severus still seems like he's alone even after adopting a kid. It really does portray every parent's worst fears though: worry for your kids as they grow up, sadness that they no longer need you as much, happiness at their growth, frustration when they make choices that you can't possibly conceive or understand, it all blends in amazingly with Severus' personality and situation.

I, personally, can't wait for Hermione's reaction to all the secrets Severus has. I don't tell you about my childhood because I was abused, I was bullied and almost fed to a werewolf by Potter and friends, I became a death eater to gain power to protect myself from them but lost my only friend Lily, the love of my life married the man who tortured me in high school and I ended up accidentally causing both of their deaths, I spy on the Death Eaters and Voldemort for Dumbledore, you're Muggleborn, I lied and told everyone I found you near a muggle Chinese restaurant's back alley, you're adopted and your parents gave you up because they wanted to fulfil their dreams of becoming a doctor, we're not related at all.

Which is when she'll probably say something like: "...What the F***?!"
