ah shit I sent without being finished eh. anyway going on, I really really adore how you capture insecurity in conversation! And Motoki ripping the heatwave excuse from her hands feels absolutely full circle!
but moat of all, I loved the photos! and how you evoked a backstory through it so rich and filled with life! i can imagine all the years they spent circling each other like obliviipus idiot people in a way that makes me want all the glimpses, and you did that just by decribing the photos. i am so so ready for the conclusion, you crafted this all so well, and I am so happy that you're writing for us!

obviously I still owe you a review for this! (sometimes it's a bit harder for me to review when I was involved in the writing process in some way, since I feel I already commented on it from all angles. but thaf never means I don't absolutely adore this and want to cheer you one 5000%, that just means I don't want to bore you and repeat myself lol!)
anyway. you KNOW i love this. i'm so happy she's finally realising (and how you managed to keep the tension so high after that BEAUTIFULLY poignant conversation with Motoki!) and so happy she's realising HER side but not Mamoru'sbecause Mamoru is still a silent enigma and not very good at making himself be heard!
the aftermath of that night, jim on the balcony? i vould feel that. his nonverbal reaction was so good, I could FEEL his desperation amd fear she would misunderstand, and of course she did. how could she not? but how ypu played that through her POV was absolutely beautiful!

OMG REI OMG OMG OMG! This chapter was so fucking beautifully PAINFUL! ugh! HOW is your Mamoru just absolute character PERFRCTION?! You manage that smirking, sort of a jerk, and soft boy that is so vulnerable balance SO WELL? Usagi waking up the morning after was just so quintessentially THEM you know? Her insecurities, comparing his room with hers and then that Miscommunication! OPEN YOUR MOUTH MAMORU AND TELL HER HOW YLU FEEL! Except he won’t, cause boy is feeling unnecessarily guilty over imagining that he somehow took advantage of her by bringing him back to his apartment and Usagi is crazily denying how she feels by clinging onto this heatwave theory. Reading the way you unwraveled that thought process for her was truly a gift. Between the conversation with Motoki, then flipping through her pictures and realizing that he’s meant more to her for so much longer ? It was beautiful. This story is hands down one of my faves. And I’m sad that there is only one chapter left but I can’t wait to read it!

REIIIIIII OMG. It's been more than 24 hours and my heart is still shattered. Also HOW IS HEATWAVE NOT ON MY FAVORITES, THIS HAS NOW BEEN FIXED.

So first off, I LOVE the morning-after panic and regret. And how she's comparing her own "childish" room to Mamoru's "adult" room. AND ALSO THE SUBTLE FORESHADOWING OF THE PHOTOS OF MAMORU THAT ARE IN HER ROOM OMG THIS IS WHY I REREAD THINGS.

And of fucking COURSE Mamoru laid out her clothes (including her underwear) the adorable awkward man.

"She couldn't unknow those things" well JEEZE I've already read it once before and I still wasn't prepared for that.

And mannnn the miscommunication hits so hard. Of course he thinks she regrets it and wants to head off her freakout and of course she takes it completely the wrong way and it just spirals out. But the whole time I'm SCREAMING at my phone "NO USAGI, YOU FOOL! OF COURSE HE LOVES YOU BUT HE JUST HAS NO IDEA HOW TO TELL YOU BECAUSE HE IS A SAD WALNUT OF A MAN!"

And also can I just highlight the beautiful detail of Usagi feeling like everything in Mamoru's apartment is immaculate except for the one thing she's touched? I love that so much.

Her angst-spiral after is also painful and spot-on. Her trying to reconcile jerk-Mamoru with Mamoru-who-she-likes and wondering if she can still go to the Crown is just tragic.

And then I love her time with the girls and how she, being Usagi, selflessly puts the needs of Minako and the rest of the group above her own needs. I love them all so much. "These are HAPPY Madeleines!" I love Mako.

AND I LOVE THE MAKO/TOKI RELATIONSHIP! It was hinted earlier but then it finally goes from subtext to text and I love how it's framed as something that was maybe not a great idea but turned out to work surprisingly well. How much they both clearly like each other? It's so cute. And it parallels UsaMamo so well.

Also, Usagi's tension about being in the Crown and worry about Mamoru is further foreshadowing of her feelings, eeeeeee, and then Motoki gives her the photo back and she takes it in the worst possible way, of course? ("Would he ever tease her again?" hits hard) And I love Motoki giving Usagi a glimpse at the vulnerable Mamoru (who totally likes her) behind the wall, and her in turn being too hurt and scared to see it. It's just such a very human failure to connect.

And then Motoki finally dispels the heatwave excuse?! My heart basically stopped. He took away the last thing Usagi had to hide her feelings behind.

And I am completely not kidding, when I first read the bit when she noticed the stack of photos, I flailed so hard I almost fell of my couch. And again rereading now, except I'm in bed instead of on the couch. BUT THE POINT STANDS. LOTS OF ANXIOUS AND EXCITED FLAILING.

And how each photo is described in detail, and paints this picture of Mamoru that she hasn't even realized she's seeing? This whole sequence BROKE. MY. FREAKING. HEART. and ends on such a wham line, even if we knew it was coming. Of COURSE she's in love with Mamoru but it feels like the end of the world because THEY SUCK AT COMMUNICATION POOR BABIES.

THIS WAS SO GOOD. I AM STILL RECOVERING. I feel like I need to reread like the entire story but my poor heart may not be able to take that kind of pain yet. Have I mentioned I love this story so much?!

WE ARE CURRENTLY IN A HEATWAVE HERE IN THE US AND I AM IN LOVE WITH READING THIS TREASURE OF A STORY WHEN I FEEL LIKE SUMMER HAS BEEN CANCELLED. What a heartwrenching chapter! I hope Mamoru is smarter than Motoki!

This chapter was perfect! I love Usagi’s conversation with Motoki and the scene where she went through the photos of Mamoru and realized she loved him! It was so sad and so well written. I hope they’ll make up and maybe Usagi will give the photos of Mamoru for the project! Or the photos of people making out. I can’t decide. Hope you update soonP.S. I can’t believe it’s almost the end T.T, this fic was so beautiful!
