Reviews for Decameron
Guest chapter 12 . 7/4
This story is a lot of fun. I like Ruby and am intrigued by this Lothiriel. The orc couple is also interesting to read.
Guest chapter 12 . 6/8
I am so enjoying this. Loved the orc couple in the last chapter. You are spinning a great tale.

I love your description of the horrid party and the beautiful jeweled gardens. I keep trying to imagine how one would create such a beautiful retreat in a city of stone and I keep failing. Of course, I also fail to keep plants alive at all. Eowyn and Faramir are adorable. I’m happy they can enjoy horrid parties together and even happier that they are left alone. I love Eomer with the Dol Amroth boys! They make me joyous! It’s nice how Lothíriel is introduced. And especially nice that she’s made into a haven for Eomer. Thanks for the new chapter!
Altariel chapter 12 . 6/8
Ah, a different take on Lothiriel and Eomer... This will be interesting.

Lovely descriptions of the city, and his attempts to navigate not only the physical space but the intricacies of the court. I like how he quietly envies the engineering! I bet they have hot water too. He wouldn't be averse to that.

This is so very sweet and too adorable. Geren is quite enjoyable as a shepherd. And quite able as well. I vastly enjoy your Shaznag and Vashtath. I do hope that they can find some peace and make a little home and not be overly pursued. And I like how you brought in how they were controlled and are now free. Thanks for you new chapters!
rlsa chapter 10 . 6/5
I love the battle scenes. I rather like how compassionate Faramir is, even to the Orcs. It’s very interesting to see caring orcs. I’d imagined that they should care about others, but decided that maybe not as they aged? Anyway, the six of the elves and men working together was quite enjoyable to read.
I just found last night that none of my messages are being sent to me by email anymore. So, I’ve now caught up on all sorts of various responses. Thanks for the new recommendation. I’ll perhaps order it. Although I’ve started thinking that I now own more books than I could read in the rest of my lifetime. Thanks!
rlsa chapter 9 . 6/4
“The uses of lace.” This makes me insanely happy. The wool-gathering made me happy too. I’m so completely content to wool gather with Éowyn. The letters are quite lovely and make me happy too. And the sword is so exciting!
Anyway, having never heard of the Decameron before, I was looking through my bookshelves when I spied a book of the same name. (I inherited “the 100 greatest books ever” from my grandfather.). So, I started reading it and it’s every bit as exciting as the uses of lace. So I got to wondering whether yours is Decameron because you’re writing over the plague or whether there’s to be stories of Fortune or whatnot. I’m so excited to read your next chapters!
CarawynO chapter 11 . 6/3
I never thought I'd use 'sweet' and 'orcs' in the same sentence, but here I am. This is a wonderful little chapter! Orcling - love it. :)
Altariel chapter 11 . 6/3
Oh, this is great. Poor bloody orcs. I think Tolkien never resolved the question of their inherent evil either: he seemed to have backed himself into corner and really didn't like where it had brought him. Is Golug-hai your own invention? I really like it!

(AT LAST is sending me updates that new chapters are being posted.)
Altariel chapter 10 . 6/3
Heart in my mouth during this chapter. Faramir, for god's sake! Just... stay behind the desk at least until the wedding! Great chapter title too.
Altariel chapter 9 . 6/3
After a fairly rotten couple of weeks, reading about Eowyn going all gooey reading one of Faramir's letters was exactly what I needed. In fact, all this chapter, with them so very much in love and full of hope, was exactly what I needed. Happy sighs!
CarawynO chapter 10 . 5/25
lol I hadn't read the chapter for the title and was about to write "Well that's one heck of a bachelor party!"

Nice to see that time in the city and dealing with politics hasn't made the Steward soft. ;)
CarawynO chapter 9 . 5/25
Ah young love. And Hilde! Delightful to see her here as well. :)
CarawynO chapter 7 . 5/25
Oh how wonderful to get to see Ivriniel at work! I really do want to be her when I grown up...

I cracked up at Aelfred and his thoughts on riding a camel. Seasick in the desert - a brilliant description. :)
CarawynO chapter 6 . 5/25
Awww, a rather nice image of the life they could have had if they were 'simple' people. I'm sure there likely were a number of marriages that occurred that way before the fall. :)
