I read the reviews of chapter eight after the A/N you put here, and indeed some points held truth in them, even if I hadn't noticed it when I had read it. And after re-reading the chapter, I can tell you it is better.

I can't do a precise comparison since I do not have the original chapter eight under my eyes, but the part on the book talking about the Shinigami, the Uzumaki temple and the mask is indeed better that way. Before it may have looked a little too forced and easy he found all the relevant information like he was destined to.

About this chapter, the topic will obviously be Naruto's team.

I think you already intended to do so, but you will really have to explain the circumstances and background of his teammates, because they are way stronger than graduate academy students. I'm not sure if you realize that they are, for the most part, stronger that the Rookie 9 that consisted mostly of clan heirs.

The technique of Sho isn't really widespread and used by a niche of ninjas, as for Genjutsu that is an art that isn't used at his full potential by ninjas. It's definitely powerful, but most ninja don't know how to cast B or A-rank ones. Don't start me on double layered ones.

For Sho, considering what he said about the consequences of being too weak when he introduced himself, I guess his family was slaughtered when he was younger or maybe he wasn't able to save his best friend of enemy ninja or even banal bandits, and he decided to become the strongest to be able to protect his loved ones. It may be something else entirely, but at least I can understand his drive, and I know that when you are determined nothing is impossible. So I'm not even that surprised that he knows his elemental affinity and has some techniques related to it.

For Yuna, that's another story entirely. I know nothing about else except that she has an aunt, maybe a shinobi who taught her everything she knows. Maybe not. Anyway you will need to develop them.

As for the teacher, for now I don't have much to say except I like him. In canon, the sensei didn't teach much to their wards except maybe Tree and Water walking, maybe a little more since Kakashi was a special case. But not to the extent of Tomoda who teach them about elemental nature that is supposed to be a chuunin or jounin skill, I don't remember. Then again, his genin are special. But I love that he really involve himself in his task and do his best to train them and give them better chance of survival.

About the trick of the alarm clock, honestly as soon as the sensei gave the rules of his exam that's the first thing I though. It didn't happened in the same way I thought however because I expected Naruto to do it surreptitiously alone, without telling his teammates. I thought he would either change the hour of the clock so it rings earlier or transform one of his clones into the clock. After all, he's the expert when it comes to pranks and on the moments plans.

About the fanart you made, besides the orange mask, I really love it. You did a good job.
