knights wore steel full plate armor for days. wearing tree bark armour would be easy as well, get used to it. also mobility would not be a problem at all. look at full plate armour where you can do cartwheels in it. also lyers of armor. moss, grass, cotton, tree bark.

please get to the new world. it never happens in one piece fics. it would be interesting and unique.

interesting story please continue, but I hate the amnesia part. just give him back his memories otherwise it doesn't feel like a self insert. just dont have him talk about his. personal stuff much. amnesia is off putting to readers. its cliche.

The story is great so far but i feel like the MC is not consistent when it comes to his power level because of the way he is portrayed you shouldn't be afraid to make him powerful. Every top tier fighter in the manga/anime is actually quite OP if you just look in the Verse, so he will still have opponents to fight.
This may be my personal opinion but characters that have everything to make them powerful, but still are weak or are strong but still somehow lose are annoying to read even more so than those that are OP and get all the girls.
Maybe make the Vice admirals stronger and convey bigger struggle to beat them or just outright beat them with a little struggle.
On another note:
Onigumo should be high up as far as vice admirals go and noting made it seem like the MC can really beat his with everything shown in previous chapters maybe change him to and OC Vice admiral who is newly promoted.
As far as making him stronger maybe make his armor so it will produce resistance when moving while also injecting necessary nutrient so he will have great strength and vitality just like a forest this may let his get his crew stronger as well.
Maybe make him get a few powerful devil fruits since he can scan entire islands for plant life and the calm belf is mostly unexplored. He can also get a devil fruit encyclopedia from the ship.
and lastly devil fruit idea: Mythical Zoan fanalis give the user great strength and durability while being immune to other devil fruits since if my memory is right fanalis in their true form are immune to magic. or maybe Sun Wukong for his monkey friend.
Remember no matter how powerful he is other will still be able to fight him as long as his powers are constrained to the rules of the verse .

man, this is one of the most enjoyable read about one piece fic in months. just hope that your si is adaptable and not forceful inserted into canon that ended up destroying canon foundation of the verse.

his power to be honest kind of cheat, so versatile but also in scope of one piece weirdness. and hopefully, fire is still his main enemies.
