Now that was a pleasant surprise, a hint of Ash and Latias shipping. Gotta say I read the original one from you loved it then and hope this one turns out just as great keep going man.

New RubyxMarnie pairing? To be honest, I was more of a RubyxGladion fan, given how Gladion is rather cold and vicious (Or at least SUPPOSED to be, I didn't like how the anime nerfed Gladion and Lusamine), but Ruby brings out his deep down soft side. Marnie is more sweet and gentle, and she could work with Ruby. I just preferred the Gladion arc in the original!

Interesting to see Rose showing up, I hope he gets a redemption arc! I think that he wasn't best suited as an antagonist, as he had good intentions. But like you said, he "tried to solve an energy crisis that wouldn't happen for a very long time!"

This is an interesting take on the story idea, and I can't wait to see more.

In general, I would suggest that while it is darker, maybe not to make it TOO dark, with at least a fair bit of humor thrown in, or at least dry wit.

Also, I hope that some of the relationships among the main characters not be TOO antagonistic. Disliking other characters is fine, but not outright HATE.

I would also like to suggest that you not overuse Shiny Pokemon. You had quite a lot of Shiny Pokemon under different trainers in the original, and that rather made it lose it's luster.
