This was really a tear jerker and it plays the emotional strings very well.

I like how you took Richie's character and really focused on the journey he's been having to make from being a lost foster child to having a true family. In someways it's kind of like the Highlander version of a Child Called "It" and "The Lost Boy" by David Pelzer.

The one thing I'll say is that you go a bit overboard with Duncan and Conner's accents. They've softened quite a bit over 400 years, especially since Connor and Duncan have spent a good deal of time between France and America.

Otherwise good story so far.

Wow. I really loved the ending. It was really touching! I loved the whole story, in fact. It's one of the better written one's I've read. I guess that's saying a bit since I've read a ton of fics. (It's all I do in my spare time besides writing them. Te-he.) I cannot wait to read 'A Place Out of Time'. If it's as good as 'The Quickening' and 'Coming Home', then I will really love it! Great ending! Loved the "immortal pension" bit and how they celebrated Richie. I really enjoyed this story. :)
