I loved your story and your take on the characters! I really enjoyed your writing style. And I appreciate that you set boundaries between James and Lily. So many fics go for smug straight away. I think it’s refreshing that in their relationship they decided to wait until marriage to be that intimate. It was really sweet!

For starters I have read a shit ton of jily fanfiction over the years. Your story was refreshing to me. Realistic in terms of growth and character development. I am glad it was minimal on the smut. Lacked cliches which I am thrilled about. A fluffy story which has a story line itself, not just having it centred around them.

The ending warrants a heartfelt sigh. That was so nostalgic! I really got the feels when she was leaving Hogwarts.

Pet peeve re long impractical speech on the platform by her dad this time. But it all ties in together. This story was started so long ago - it is so amazing that you finished it! Your characterisation of everyone was one of my favourite things about this story. There was so much depth and nuance - one of the best I’ve ever read about. And your take on things like Remus, Peter and Regulus were new to me but make so much sense canonically. This was great. Thanks for sharing your talent with us all.

Somehow I feel the plausibility of the story has shifted. Not magic wise or canon wise but storyline wise? Like they just had an entire long conversation in front of his parents including kisses and spins etc? And the long articulate speeches about feelings that come so easily... my fave part about this story was when Lily learnt to come around and get to know James better. That was really deep. But I will read on! Excited to see how it wraps up.

Dumbledore’s lack of favourites was really sweet. Some obvious foreshadowing going on there. (I love it). All I need to really feel complete is to baby name drop Harry!

I really dig your authors notes for context and also the fact you are trying so hard to stay truthful to the context! Even though it is fanfiction. It’s super impressive. (And canon is my favourite). I also like the political explorations you’ve suggested. Some things you say made me realise how dated this fic is (eg the timeline of their lives).. but otherwise it’s aged really well!

That was such a tender moment of burgeoning... acceptance... between Lily and Sirius. I loved it.

Wow that was so dramatic. The long speeches make your characters seem so eloquent but I’m just grateful that they’re articulate so we can get into their heads. Sirius telling her off was legit. I like it when Lily has recognisable flaws.

I’m two chapters in and I’m already pretty amazed at the nuances of James and Lily. I like Gideon as a plot device. It makes sense. The maurauder fight also makes sense. I’m super excited to see how you develop this!
