Jimelda chapter 4 . 4/21/2011
Don't tell me this is it! There has to be more, a continuation or something...right?

I love, love, love this story (as much as the idea of Sandy hitting Ryan makes me physically sick) and need to read more! I actually need to! You definitely had me in tears during parts of this, which is no easy feat, let me tell you.

Please, please, please, please, write more for this? An epilogue? A few more chapters? Twenty more? Lol. It's so great and I just cannot bear to have it end!
slimkay chapter 4 . 12/11/2009
Awesome. Your stories are just amazing. I've read a bunch of them ... and it doesn't make me want to go through the DVDs again. I feel like your stories are so real, like they are an extension of the TV show.

If you and other great authors are willing to make comebacks, it'd make my day, heck... my year!
sylvaniae chapter 4 . 11/29/2008
Wow, this story was really good, painfully good! The ending just seemed a little unclear. I wish there were more to the story, so we could find out how Ryan ends up dealing with all of it in the long term.

bitemylip13 chapter 4 . 7/22/2004
Hey, girl! That was an amazing story! Love your work! Anyway, I think that was superb. Your portrayal of Kirsten, Ryan, everyone, was unbelievable! That story was sad yet inspiring in that they eventually overcome their past problems to come back to normal. Keep up the great writing, hope to see your name on the cover of a book someday!
muchtvs chapter 4 . 7/8/2004
Interesting ending. Not sure how I feel about Ryan threatening Sandy. I guess it wasn't really a threat. Ryan's been putting up with physical abuse by people under the influence of one thing or another for a long time, so it makes sense that he would let Sandy know that he showed an incredible amount of restraint by not striking back the first time.

I think it's also interesting that Ryan was the one that more or less allowed the family to heal. But it was such a sad ending really because it felt like Ryan doesn't really feel at home with them, like he forgave Sandy and settled back in with the Cohens because that was what was best for the Cohens, not necessarily what was best for Ryan. Drives home how this kid is so alone, or at least feels alone.

This was one of my favorite stories of yours. Well done.

Oh god, the kitchen was so awkward! Poor Sandy, thank goodness Ryan was able to step up to the plate and allow Sandy the chance to make things right. I can't imagine being in Sandy's position.

Good take that Kirsten is slowly fading back into the background. She was strong and dominating when it was called for and now she is back to her quieter, less aggressive self. Her coming into kitchen and kissing Sandy was so sweet. He really needed it at that moment!
muchtvs chapter 2 . 7/8/2004
Beautifully written Kirsten. One of the best Kirsten chapters I've read. When push comes to shove, every single man in that house does fall in line and do what she asks/says. I think it's because she rarely makes demands.

Ryan's insight on Seth still being a kid and therefore still self-absorbed was right on. Drives home how very far apart these two boys are in terms of maturity. That doesn't reflect badly on Seth, in fact it's more of a sad staement on Ryan's behalf.
muchtvs chapter 1 . 7/8/2004
This paragraph was so insightful : "Ryan was turning out to be more of a problem child than he had anticipated. He loved the kid, he'd grown to love him and that's what made the situation so much worse. Something had happened, something had triggered the kid's anger and violence. Something about this Oliver kid was turning the quiet, humble boy he loved into the violent aggressive man in the poolhouse. Sandy had never met Ryan's father, he'd only seen the files, but he didn't want Ryan's emotional crisis to spiral out of control. He didn't want Ryan to turn out like his real father. But Ryan wasn't accepting his place in Sandy's family either."

It still amazes me how much action and plot development you can fit into one chapter. You hit the boy, introduced us to the surfers, threw in a little drug usage, cemented Ryan's bond with Kirsten and revealed the true thief and it's only chapter one!
