One thing that does disturb me (and I know this story was written awhile ago and attitudes have thankfully evolved since then) is how lightly the topic of rape is addressed in this chapter. Just because someone does not say 'no', it doesn't mean it isn't rape. if someone is coerced into having sex when he/she doesn't want to, that is still considered rape, regardless of whether the specific words "stop" or "no" are spoken. I realize that Syaoran in your story doesn't mean any real harm, but his attitude towards rape is alarming. I hope you can understand where I'm coming from! |
