this unexpected pairing got me hooked, seriously it was better than expected tho! the story was great! I just kind of sad for kenshin but yeah whatever xD btw I hope that you will write more aoshi-kaoru's stories 'cause seriously now I'm kind of obsessed with this pairing (just a little, yeah right xD) and thank you for writing this amasing story :D you did a good job!

This is such an unexpected pairing but I really like hoe you build up the story and their pacing in their relationship :) awesome story and thank you for the nice ending for kenshin, I was gonna cry if you had left him a sad ending.

Oh I loved this. What a great read. I laughed, I cried, and I enjoyed every word.

Ok, after the first review I left for "Battlefront", it's only expected I'd plow through your fiction. Once I had a taste, I couldn't get enough. Haha. I read "Crimson Tears" and I enjoyed it immensely as well (Srry, didn't leave a review 'cause I was plowin!)
I think it's right to assume you wrote each chapter of "Best of Intentions" with care, because not once did i feel that a chapter was a "filler." Each one was "meaty", even when some of the scenes were less sad and very amusing (flour fight).The whole syphilis mishap had be almost crying tears for Kenshin. When Sano read Kenshin's unsent letters, I felt his despair as well. I'm just glad that in the end Kenshin finally got "the peace he sought." This just reminded me how darn sad some anime really are. I think from reading at least 3 of your RK fics thus far,

I've gotten a sense of your like for love triangles. I have a guilty pleasure for those, not really for the whole 2 guys loving 1 girl cliché, but the complexity involved in loving people (One person has once asked 'is it possible to love two people' and this writer wrote 'you love people not numbers').
I feel you are very good at capturing the dynamics of relationships between the different characters, ranging from love interest, familial ties, and friendship. And I feel myself learning along with your characters. I find that I can learn from their reflections/inner monologue and make them applicable to real life.

The themes I've picked up on were the all very much related to happiness: atonement, inner peace, selflessness, self sacrifice, loss, and forgiveness (that the hardest person to forgive is yourself). and I've also learned a lot about love when you wrote that Kaoru was glad that unlike Kenshin, Aoshi was able to share his past/sadness with her. I think one of the most important things about love
is being able to share your pain with others and if Kenshin was selfish about one thing, it was his pain/guilt. I found that it was so fitting that in the end Sano had told Kaoru that Kenshin loved her but "he loved his remorse too." After all, how can you open yourself up to love when you refuse anyone to help you carry the burden of your guilt?
Your story has helped me see clearly now that just as forgiving yourself for past sins/disappoints is one of the hardest things to do, sharing personal pain and accepting help is also very difficult and it takes a strong person to do that.

In this fic you've done a great job in exploring those themes. Forgive me for getting all literary on you and maybe I just read a lot in between the lines, but I just like analyzing good work and if you can make someone
think of your work even after it's over then you've certainly achieved much as a writer!
I think if you can make your readers do all that (in addition to actually caring about the characters[and their happiness]) it's a gift(from you to your readers.

I can't bring myself to pity Kenshin, I just can't... how can I when even himself doesn't think he's worthy of being loved? I know he's a nice guy and all, but Aoshi is the guy for Kaoru. Oh, gotta love Hiko seducing Megumi, they're cute together.

Misao is so childish! About Kenshin, I feel sorry for his sickness, but I don't give a damn about his self deprecating mood, he had so many chances with Kaoru, but never said a word to clarify those feelings, he always left her in the dark, besides he never even bothered to know her past... he clearly doesn't deserve her if he doesn't feel the need to fight for her love.

Oh, wow... this really does defy canon in every imaginable way. Perhaps that's why I didn't enjoy reading this as much as I thought I would've.

Your writing is fantastic- it's the content that had me shifting uncomfortably. That and the thought that the majority of readers haven't even read the manga, and are just using Kaoru as a self-insert to get with attractive male characters. Watsuki built up a beautiful story, and beautiful relationships between Kaoru and Kenshin, Misao and Aoshi. This felt an awful lot like killing that world. But I guess that's why it's called fanfiction.

I'll say it again, you write very well. But perhaps the next time you write a AxK, or another crack pairing, set it in an AU. It would be much more believable.

I loved your story! The end was a little too strange in my opinion (Kenshin dying and all that), but I liked it very much anyway. I love the fact you write Kaoru with other males besides Kenshin, it gives me hope! So keep up the awesome work and the writing of these amazing pairings!
