You know, halfway through the end of this chapter, this alternate ending sort of popped into my mind...

"Meanwhile, Dalamar had opened the collar of Drizzt's robe with skilled fingers. He chuckled softly. Dalamar's breath brushed tantalizingly slowly over Drizzt's skin, making the drow moan in pleasure. Dalamar obviously enjoyed the power he had over his partner..."

Suddenly, Dalamar felt Drizzt go stiff and looked up to see his countenance, with lavender eyes wide.

'Dalamar, don't move a muscle' Drizzt said as his hand slowly slipped behind him to one of his daggers. Suddenly, he stepped to the side and launched the dagger. Dalamar spun to follow its flight-

- into a strange overly feminine figure lurking in the corner of the room with a barbie-pink laptop. He looked down to regard his and the drow's moderately disheveled attire.

'That was close,' Dalamar stated, a little overwhelmed by the sudden nature of the reprieve.

'APRIL FOOLS!' The two elves spun to face the true authoresses. 'Did you really think we'd do that to you?' they chorused.

Drizzt, with a look of overwhelming confusion spun to point at the dead figure.

'Nah, that's just our slash-fic-writing-puppet. Realistic, isn't it?'

(And Drizzt has to fight the C-E nazgul, but not Dalamar who is also chaotic-evil... weird) :p

::Claps hands:: Looks like I picked a good time to pick up reading this story. I just heard "A Boy Named Sue" this christmas when my sister got the CD. Both the real song and the "Sue" version cracked me up.

This is hilarious and I'm really impressed someone else out there knows about Elfquest. I thought only me and two other people knew about that. _

*Claps as best can be done* It was all great until tha last chapter. Which I sped read through. Other than alot of grammar and spelling mistakes, and the death of the keyboard from time to time, it was good. Sadly enough I liked the ESGAME so much, it made it into me favorites.

Oh my GOD! This is the FUNNIEST Story I've encountered here, so far, and I had to read all the posted chapters at once. I hope number 8 is not going to be the last one... especially since it's more than a year old by now. I pretty nearly died laughing (especially at Legolas hiding under the table or paired with treebeard -no wonder the ents died out then, that poor tree would be too traumatized to recognize a woman if he saw one!) and my mother found me hysterically sobbing at my PC-keyboard... *tries to wipe the streaming tears of hilarity from her eyes*

I'm afraid you don't yet know the worst thing: I feel guilty! Are you aware you trapped one of those nasty, mean slash-writer-chicks (*shrugs* At least I'm NOT doing Mary Sues!) and made her wince with every stereotype she recognized to have abused several times for her own stories? (Don't look for them, I haven't been member here long and my first fics are yet to be uploaded, due to computer incompatibility, because my "Internet PC" is newer than my "Writing PC"... And when I've finally managed, you won't like it, anyway... though your attempt on slash in chapter 8 was suspiciously good, showing that, yes, it's true: you can truly pair just anyone. But you have to admit some couples are just more logical *g* than others...)

Well, I just wanted to tell you people I love you for this, but, unfortunately, you won't make me change my evil ways. I'm too fascinated -with masochist Dalamar for example. *laughs maniacally*

Great story to this point, something interesting seems about to happen.

Whew, I was getting worried there...I had no idea what you were doing and was definitely suspecting that Raist was going to barge on in (if he can ever be said to "barge"). Nice touch with the song.

Abused elves suggestion: Maedhros and Fingon. Not only are they always paired together despite their being first cousins, Mae is always portayed as the weakling b/c of the little "need-to-get-saved-from-the-precipice-of-death" thing. He's not a wimp! (of course, since Mae is also leading my support group, that might be too much group counseling for one guy to handle.)Anyway, just a thought.

Again, I HAVE to review before finishing the story...Spock is a brilliant touch. (I seem to use that word a lot.) Have you ever read the short essay "If You Give A Girl A Hobbit" by Esther Friesner? (it's in a book of essays about Tolkien called "Meditations on Middle-earth") She draws the Vulcan-Elf connection too...including mistaking Spock for Legolas...but I'm babbling.
