AlysanneLake chapter 1 . 5/26/2012
Great read.
eclaire291 chapter 1 . 2/6/2011
I love everything about this story! I love the relationship between Reno and Elena and I love how you snuck a bit of Rufus/Elena in here as well. Far too often, people write with blinders on, focusing on one pairing or only two characters. You were able to include everything necessary to make this story brilliant though and you were able to keep everyone in character. This story was touching and that last line was very powerful. Great work!
meatballs in the impala chapter 1 . 7/26/2010
I enjoyed this fic thoroughly. I loved the ending. You kept Reno and Elena (and everyone in fact) in character. Good job.
Moiranne Rose chapter 1 . 7/4/2009
Well-written and immensely realistic. Love the last part and the first part and all the parts in between. I think the best part though was the first part. It drew me in immediately. Well-played, sir!

Induin chapter 1 . 5/28/2008
That was a sweet read. The ending got to me but I love the last line.
Tsubacci chapter 1 . 7/11/2007
Aw! I hate you for making the ending sad. But your fic was too awsome, so I can't really hate you for that :d
Fred Dumpling chapter 1 . 1/1/2006
I have read this fic on your site time and again, and I still love it. It's rare for me to find something I want to read over and over. Thank you.
Nando the RPS King chapter 1 . 9/28/2005
Very moving. Excellent work.
Tijuana Pirate chapter 1 . 5/19/2005
Heh, you must be getting tired of me. I'll prolly read one more after this and then head off to

bed. Though it certainly has been fun so far.

I remember hearing about this story a long time ago. I really enjoyed it. I've decided that I quite like your narrative style. You can make a really nice contrast between long descriptive sentences and short, jagged ones. "Two; yes, he was." Short sentences are so very effective when they are used well... *grins* I liked how you stuck a long flashback in the middle of the story. That certainly was different. I loved the way you had all of them characterized. Reno's rant when he finally snapped at Elena was priceless! Rufus was great too.

really though, once again I think that the ending might have been my favourite. It was (to borrow a word of Jess Angel's) almost filmatic. You could *see* it all quite clearly... Heh, I could almost hear the helicopter and the loud-speaker... but all of that seemed to fade when Reno leaned up and whispered to Elena... it was a great scene, really well written.

Okay, one more and then I think I'm done for tonight. Heh, doesn't seem like I hardly even dented your story pile. 52 stories? That's amazing!

space mermaid chapter 1 . 1/1/2005
Holy fuck...

This is, by far, one of the bet written pieces I have...ever read...ever, like woah. The details were perfect and the characters was present wonderfully! I love the cute subtile hints you placed throughout it. You really accented the writing. Your style is AMAZING. Literally AMAZING. I have never read anything better.

Please continue the good work. P Big fan of yours, just never had the courage to tell ya. x_X

-Trauma (Elena...whatever the hell I'm called these days...)
trapt-tage chapter 1 . 12/25/2004
This is a superbly written fic, I thought I ought to tell you that at the start.

I think one-shots have a special something that you lose when you add a second chapter, and it goes the same for this piece. If you were to continue this, it would fall to ruin, but left as it is, it is nearly faultless. I am very picky on the spelling/grammar side, and I actually caught /no/ mistakes at all. You either have a very respectable beta, or you've re-read this peice time and time again. Most likely both.

I think that's what you deserve to be credited for. Not only were you able to come up with such a great little piece, you were able to do so and not have reason for any of your reviewers to complain (as far as I read they didn't).

If someone told me this story was about Elena and Reno's first meeting and then his death; they would be right, but they would be wrong. You have taken something that would most likely be on my 'near boring' list, and put it somewhere called my 'favorites list.' Kudos.
Some Mad Person chapter 1 . 12/20/2004
And you could have split open universes of hearts with your writing. Take my word for this, I'm going to read your fanfic at least three times more.
li-tzu chapter 1 . 12/4/2004
i really, really like this piece. it is superbly written and each of the characters are dead on. great humor, but also a wonderful poignancy as well. bravo.
Thyme In Her Eyes chapter 1 . 11/11/2004
Argh, you've got me all emotional now! ::wipes eyes:: Damn. Seriously, I loved this. This was a great read - really funny and enjoyable but at the same time horribly poignant, too. I have to say, this is a really amazing 'fic you got here - fantastic, and probably one of the best Turks-fics I've read. And I can't believe you've not had more reviews!

The way you write everyone here was great; I loved all the moments with the characters - Yuffie, Rude, Tseng, Hojo, Rufus...you have them all pinned. This had so many monents that were just PRICELESS. All the encounters were great and your dialogue was excellently done. I love how you write Elena and Reno and your portrayl of their friendship was *brilliantly* done. I just how loved how comfy they were with each from the first. You made me genuinely care about them too. And all the tiny details really made the story and characters come alive. Incredible work!

“I always kinda loved you; you know that, right?
Sabriel41 chapter 1 . 10/28/2004
Damn. Reno, that was bloody incredible.

.

I read this when it first came out, and bookmarked it for a time that wasn't 2 AM. Glad I did; "Open the Sky" was even better the second time around, and easier to pick up the subtle hints you placed throughout.

.

This fic displays an unusual mastery of details, from the bits about the Turks' room to their individual cars (Cumilonimbus Excalibur? Holy Hyne, that's a name...) to the snippets of Rufus, Hojo, Rude, Tseng, and Yuffie that made this tale just that much deeper. (Especially Rufus. I want to go find some well-written Rufus/Elena now, but it's unlikely...)

.

All in all, on the borrowed Spiegel Scale, I'm thinking
