This was freaking awesome, I love how you set Orochimaru's views on the table in full view and how it makes total sense even told Tsunade doesn't totally agree with it but she understands. That's pretty gross about the salami, when I first read this, I assumed Orochimaru took a bite out of it, but I guess it makes more sense that either Jiraiya or Tsunade took a bite and then left it there, and now it's sort of alive. I like how you depict both characters and Tsunade is lovely putting up with their crap and Orochimaru is sweet for leaving Tsunade a sandwich. Great story, thank you for sharing.

i probably first read this fic about 10 years ago, and it's still such a classic little one-shot in my mind.

Proving once again that Orochimaru is the most perceptive of them all. The guy doesn't even have to be a genius to beat them, he's the only one with any common sense to see what needs to be done and do it. Of course, he was also a twisted bastard who experimented on people, but still. No wonder he ran circles around everyone else. Also, to be in love with someone because they remind you of your brother...is squicky. And I'm not sure I buy Oro being into Jir, but it doesn't completely clash with his creepy gay-pedo vibe we get from canon, at least. Nicely done fic, overall.

this is the first i've read, but i'm now officially in love with the sennin, as well as oro/jir pairings (which ironically i didn't like before because i wasn't fond of jiraya)

Beautiful! Believable, not-total-bastard Orochimaru is such a rare thing, and Tsunade was wonderfully characterized as well. To tell you the truth, this fic has really influenced the way I think of Orochimaru's progression from soldier to traitor.
