A frame-work for this pairing I can actually understand and makes it believable. I definitely appreciate the effort to avoid the usual pitfalls of this pairing - and worn out romance tropes in general - in order to stay true to the intended themes and characters. I "ship it" and I cannot say I normally would.

Characterization is good, overall. Kaiba seems a little out of it, but his type of character requires a little bending to make romance stories possible and I think you did well. You did absolutely amazing by fleshing out Serenity into a fully-fledged character. She truly does live and breathe the arc of this story and I related way too much with her - only a few years ago, I was in much the same situation.

All and all, a good romance and an even better narrative and emotional piece. The kind of story that could have ended with them breaking up and it would still be a good read to see how they developed as people. Them being together becomes the cherry, as it were.

To the author, thank you. It’s these simple romances that make a story truly relaxing and enjoyable. It was a perfect masterpiece.

I know how strange it is to get reviews years and years after something is concluded, but I wanted to just say how much I love this story. It was basically my introduction to the "coffeeshop aueven though I guess it's not necessarily AU is it?), years and years ago. I think I was reading it as it was being posted, once upon an ancient time. The details woven throughout, emotionally and intellectually, all hold up in my memory, and I'm really glad it crossed my mind to come back for a re-read today. Thank you for keeping it online for so long, I hope to be able to come back and reread it again and again!

I'm not one to read multi-chapter fanfiction. I just don't have the patience for it. I have never read one about Kaiba and Serenity before. I honestly didn't think about their characters much, and never together as a couple. And then this story happened to me.
I stayed up till 1:00 AM reading this, and now I've just finished it after work (and maybe a little bit during work...). Everything about this fic is perfection. The characterization is SPOT ON. The pacing just flies. The focus is intimate, refreshing, and real. The message is moving and relatable.
As a writer, this fic inspires and challenges me, which is SO FUN. I think I sometimes shy away from plots that are too simple, or too emotional, fearing that they'll be boring or sappy. But you took that simplicity and that emotion and made it the story's strength.

Back when I was around eight years old I started reading this. I figured that it was Cardcaptor Sakura fanfiction right up until name reveal. I was so confused. I don't think I understood it at all, either. Honestly, that was such an absurd experience. How didn't I catch that.

I love this fic so much. I read it for the first time years ago and every now and then I get the urge to re-read it. Something about it just hits all the notes I want in exactly the order I want them in. Thank you for writing this!

This is by far my favourite yu-gi-oh fanfic and one of the fics I find myself returning to time and time again. I've read this multiple times over the years and each read is just as good as the last. Thank you for sharing this fic. I love the premise and honestly everything about this story. I don't review very often, but after going back to this story once more, I just wanted to share how much I really appreciate the effort you put into this story. This story never fails to put a smile on my face and I wanted to thank you for that.
