Reviews for Striker
Little Tusk chapter 19 . 9/15/2019
I am so happy that Striker really does have honor! I like that Karin figured out Striker wasn’t going to harm Sadie. I also like it that Striker held her gently! I can see why Striker would think that he was being tricked when he realized he was on an island. I like Karin’s plan; telling the soldiers on the helicopter that Striker’s blood was “a ruptured poison sac.” All it took was hearing the word poison and bam! Dump Striker right in the ocean! Hopefully Striker will end up back on his home planet someday! If you write a sequel to this story, I hope Striker only hunted humans who were criminals. I like to think that he would want to maintain his honor. And if he doesn’t end up back on his homeworld , maybe he could end up with a female human life mate! After he gets all of the rage out of his system first of course! Oh! Maybe when Sadie is in her mid-late twenties, she’s a scientist who studies plant life ( I honestly remembered what that field is called until I needed to type it!) and she ends up wherever Striker is by that time - somewhere tropical probably- and they meet. ( Maybe he rescues her from a criminal or something? (or). Sadie saves Striker’s life! ( Perhaps he is severely ill and she knows what plants to give him!). Anyway, wonderful story and I’m that I am able to like Striker again!
Little Tusk chapter 18 . 9/15/2019
I really hope Striker never actually intended to harm Sadie! Even in the official franchise, harming or killing a pup is the worst crime a Yautja can commit. And since Striker seems concerned about his honor, killing a ooman pup would not be something he would consider. Hopefully he is just being smart and knows that he has to threaten the oomans in order to escape. ( Something I forgot to mention in my previous review: I like how you explained that Striker used his fangs to cut the roof of his mouth so the oomans thought he was dying!)
Little Tusk chapter 17 . 9/15/2019
Yep, it was a ruse! Kinda reminds me of when Fugitive escaped from the Project Stargazer Lab on ‘The Predator’. I can understand why Karin is enraged by Striker’s actions, but if she had the strength of a Yautja and had kept in a cell for over ten years, then had the opportunity to escape, would she choose to live in that facility for the rest of her life?- No! She’d get the hells out of there while she had the chance!
Little Tusk chapter 16 . 9/15/2019
More insight into Striker’s frustration, now that he realizes that his sire and bearer were right; He was too eager for his own good. It appears that Striker now only seeks a way to die without cursing his soul. I suspect that Striker just tricked them. Probably slowed his own heart rate and blood pressure. Although I’m not sure how he cause himself to throw up blood. Points for Karin for insisting that Striker be moved to the medical wing.
Little Tusk chapter 15 . 9/15/2019
Okay, so maybe Striker isn’t a Bad Blood! He was infuriated when General Heingrid suggested that he would kill women, children and the old. And finally got some insight into what Striker is thinking; Either follow orders or live the rest of his life ( possibly well over a thousand years) in captivity. ; And he cannot kill himself without cursing his soul to eternal damnation . Now I am starting to feel sorry for him again. I REALLY hope that he turns out to be good!
Little Tusk chapter 14 . 9/15/2019
I can understand why Striker would feel betrayed, but I’m starting to get the feeling that Striker might have turned out to be a Bad Blood - even if he hadn’t been held captive. ( “Who is Sadie?” - ‘A dark smile crossed Striker’s features as she left.’ ). Striker is very intelligent, so he must have figured out that Sadie is Karin’s ‘pup’ and the fact that a dark smile appeared can only imply that he intends to do something horrible to Sadie, if for no other reason than to torment Karin. I am beginning to think that I won’t be able to end up liking Striker again. ( hope that is not the case though!)
Little Tusk chapter 13 . 9/15/2019
So maybe Striker takes out his anger on the animals they feed him. I also wonder if they even provided Striker with any food other than live animals; I don’t think that General Heingrid can be trusted. I thought the reveal of adult Striker’s face was going to show severe damage. ( guess not.). Karin is right ; Striker is NOT a wild animal!
Little Tusk chapter 12 . 9/15/2019
Saw. I am kind of at a loss for words. I did not expect Striker to be like that. Actually I am a bit mortified. Not so sure if I can say poor Striker anymore; Unless he has had extremely horrific things done to him that made him the way he is now. I’m sure being in an enclosure for ten years helped. Hope I’ll be able to like Striker again!
Little Tusk chapter 11 . 9/14/2019
So General Heingrid IS up to something! He doesn’t care about Striker at all, he just wants a super soldier! General Heingrid is really sneaky! Tricking Striker to believe that he was going to be fighting as a reward for enduring all of the tests and exams, when the fighting itself was just another test! Striker is going to be really pissed off if he finds out what General Heingrid is up to! Especially since he is the only ooman that Striker even remotely trusts!
Little Tusk chapter 10 . 9/14/2019
I like how Striker actually enjoyed playing with the ball ! I wouldn’t have had him kill the rat though ( but that’s just me:)! I would’ve justified his actions that he was hungry and didn’t know when the oomans were going to feed him.). The concept of Fast Growth is very interesting! I also like it that it doesn’t happen to all pups! It is something that says ‘your going to be an important warrior someday.’ Too bad it’s so painful though! I bet Striker is happy about his sudden growth spurt; the faster he grows, the sooner he can escape!
Little Tusk chapter 9 . 9/14/2019
Wow, the scientists are definitely not caring people at all! Didn’t even want to give him any water! Not sure what General Heingrid’s motivation is for being nice to Striker; Does he care about him because his daughter does, or does he plan on brainwashing Striker to be a super soldier ? If I were in Striker’s situation I wouldn’t trust anyone either! I’m on a roll of correct guesses! Striker is now mad at Karin, thinking that she abandoned him! Poor little warrior!
Little Tusk chapter 8 . 9/14/2019
Okay, Rick is just outright mean! Trying to convince little Striker to smoke a cigar! Wonder what caused the animosity between Karin and her father? The part when Striker was sedated was sad; The you described his confusion is written perfectly. When he wakes up and realizes that Karin is gone and figures out what ‘goodbye’ means, he is not going to be happy! In fact, he will most likely feel betrayed by Karin; Someone he views as a mother figure. I like the way Karin is portrayed; Having to follow orders but absolutely hating it and feeling immense concern for Striker’s wellbeing.
Little Tusk chapter 7 . 9/14/2019
I really like the depiction of Striker picking up on English so quickly! Also how he was able to detect the storm was interesting. ( I also have my Yautja able to detect barometric and electrical changes!). I also like how Striker went from wanting to hunt the group of young boys to wanting to join their game.( although hesitantly.) And of course, something negative just has to happen to Striker! Getting mauled by the local dogs will definitely cause him to never trust any dogs he encounters in the future! Striker telling Karin that she is good was very endearing! I also like Karin contemplating whether or not she is a good person for being part of a team that is leading Striker to be retrieved by the government!
Little Tusk chapter 6 . 9/14/2019
I like the way you portray Karin feeling concerned for Striker; Almost like she has a sixth sense. I also like the way Striker explained his situation to Karin! You depict him being a quick thinker! I don’t even want to contemplate what the government is going to do to Striker!:(:(. Probably something horrible!:(
Little Tusk chapter 5 . 9/14/2019
The scene with Striker sleeping under the blanket and then getting tangled in it was ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! Much like a human child. ( except for the slicing the blanket in half part of course!). Poor Striker, all alone on a strange planet; but at least he realized that he was not prepared to undertake such a hunt. Tough way to learn though.
