It's funny that a lot of other authors haven't addressed this issue. It's funny how other characters are left by the wayside when a primary character "moves on."

Everyone knows Ares began to consider Gabrielle as a second option when Xena continuously refused his advances, though there was an attraction between them.

I liked how you presented this exchange between the two surviving "loves" in Xena's life. It was a simple and elegant scene that could have been dropped in at teh end of FIN, had teh producers considered seriously moving forward with Gabrielle as a solo character. The dialogue was dead on, and the emotional details put me right intot he frame of mind of both characters.
