Very beautifully written and the story was so captivating I couldn't stop reading it I only wish we could have seen Anakin and Obi Wan team up and kill Darth Sideous or see the new life that Padme and Anakin have with the twins and their new kid. What's funny is I had an idea last night about writing a story basically like this with the change that they go to the Dark Side and when the rebels and Jedi 'save' her she feels like she is being kidnapped.

Half of this couple is just beautifully done. This is surely one of the best Padmé characterizations I've ever seen on this site, and, for that, I salute you. My only qualm is that her beau doesn't quite seem to be the man he ought to be - by which, of course, I mean Darth Vader.

I know, I know: you're basing it on Episode III, and Episode III didn't exactly give us a persuasive psychological portrait of a good man's descent into evil, either. I grant it - but the way you showed us such hidden depths in Padmé suggests that you could also have provided a mental journey for Anakin that would have made up for Lucas's inadequacies. But you didn't - or, at least, I myself can't believe, looking at the inner workings of this Anakin's mind, that the massacre of the younglings really has done to him what the Emperor said it would. We ought to see all his impulses, all his original good intentions, being either twisted or subtly shunted aside, so that, though he may tell himself it's still Padmé that he loves, on some fundamental level the Dark Side has replaced her in his heart. (And Padmé, of course, should recognize this, and perceive that she and her silver tongue are faced with the task, not just of correcting an erring lover, but of breaking a spell of enthrallment. Which is the other reason I'm disappointed that you missed this point, because a scene like that, in hands so skilled, would surely have been downright awesome.)

Loved it! Amazing alternate ending! A part 2 would be good but you really captured the essence of these characters and it was amazing.

This is one of the best stories ever! Too bad it shall never be cannon... :(
(Then again, if this was cannon then Star Wars would be different, Episodes 4-9 in particular..)
I love the part when Obi-Wan and Anakin are fighting for some reason...

God that was beautiful! Now I only wish Obi-Wan hadn't come to Mustafar... Maybe things would've happened like this. I'm in awe at how Padme handled Anakin's folly at the beginning. And before Anakin realised that the Jedis weren't traitors, Obi-Wan's thoughts were bordering on insanity. He was so obsessed, so convinced with the fact that Anakin was a Sith. He is evil. He is lying to Padme (well at first he was obsessively believing that she was dead). He must've had children simply to raise them as his apprentices. He must be killed.

It was scary and it made me very angry with Obi-Wan.

Great one shot! loved it. Not too much drama that just drags on for chapters like in other stories.

Oh God. That story tired me. In a good way, of course. The way you characterized them, showed their ways of thinking and reasons behind acts... That was amazing, but also I could feel everything. And it hurt. But I like this kind of pain caused by fear of characters.
And it's... well... You did part of incredibly good job so short after premiere of ROTS, in fact. And I must say, that you captured Anakin's return to the light the best way anyone could ever do.
