I read the Queen's Thief series because of this fanfic (and loved every bit of it). Just remembered it yestreday and came hunting, and it's just as brilliant as I remember it. Seeing Gen and Attolia's relationship from the point of view of a total outsider - Chrestomanci's impression of the court with its various factions - I love every bit of this, too.

Excellent story. Actually, as soon as I'd read it I wanted to go rush out to the library to read the whole (Attolia) series again. Good work!

You should've called the Otticon the Macguffin instead. Seriously. Otherwise, that was lovely.

Reading some of the reviewws, I am delighted that this crossover led others to the Queen's Thief series. They are truly wonderful books, and Eugenides has to be one of the greatest literary creations of modern literature. I highly enjoyed the story, and applaud the effect it has had on others reading the series. Keep up the good work!

This is certainly a very interesting fic, and though I haven't read the Queen of Attolia before, your story has made me want to check it out. I liked the adventure, how you wrote so perfectly in Chrestomanci's voice. Good work for making such a compelling and interesting story!

Such a wonderful little story... I come back to it, every now and then when I'm reminded, and now I've bookmarked it to make it easier. You've got a great Chrestomanci-voice, and I love his insights on the Attolian court, along with Gen's utterly wonderful essence-of-Gen. All of the dialogue is brilliant, too. Thank you!

This was delightful! A Chrestomanci, Queen's Thief crossover is a good idea under most circusmtances, and having Chrestomanci's outsider perspective on the Attolian court was really very fun, and thought-provoking. As readers, we're fairly secure in the fact of Gen and Irene's love from the end of book two on, so it's sometimes easy to forget that on the surface of the court, it actually often looks like everybody simply despises each other.

I especially enjoyed your well wrought dialogue and your clever humor - there were several moments when I laughed out loud.
