Such a pity this hasn't been updated yet... well...

The blackmail is a nice touch, though not exactly memorable as the reason Edward is a prostitute. Would have been nice to see a couple of reminders from Sid to Edward, to enforce the fear factor and add credence to Edward acting so submissive.

The confrontation scene between Edward and Sid and "the birthday boy" did feel a little awkward to me; Edward seems to be the kind of character that wouldn't put up with it. I get that Sid is threatening Roy and Al. But I would think that Sid isn't the kind of character that would be able to just pull of a blackmail threat of harm. It would seem more realistic if there was some sort of physical action used to show Ed how real the threat is; something like Roy's spare gloves with the arrays destroyed (implying the Sid can render Roy defenceless) or Al finding something next to or on his bed that shouldn't be there (implying Sid can get close even in what might be considered one of the safest of places.)

I do like how you have handled Roy's budding feeling for Edward, tempered by what Edward is going through.

I think this has some great development potential and could be expanded to create a fuller more complex story. As it is I’m estimating it has about two chapters left in it.
