NOOOOOOOOO! T_T Not the poor black stallion/horse! Why did he have to get eaten by Angelus?! And Verdelet isn't very bad in my opinion, he's not different from the other messed-up characters of Drakengard so I find it unfair to dislike/hate him and not everyone else.

Nice story and the pacing was fine. Too bad you didn't update after this, but it was fin while it lasted.

I love this story, more than ever.

My attention wandered a little up to here. Where was the sense of urgency after Caim saved Furiae? The Union soldiers actually have time to celebrate and drink? That was the first moment that really jerked me out of the story. That's a little too goofy for Drakengard, and you already know Caim's and Angelus' dynamic is rushed and premature.

Two good chapters, back to back. I want to say I loved the Angelus-Caim interaction, but objectively speaking, it's not quite that right.

One of the most important details of Angelus' character was her contempt of humans: she didn't reveal her name to Caim until the very end. The player learns her name right as Caim does, since he's our player surrogate.

There's a weird element at play here with the POV being split between Caim and Angelus. When Angelus eventually reveals her name, the meaningfulness will be mitigated because the reader already knows her name.

The better artistic decision in my opinion would have been to write from Caim's perspective exclusively.

Also, Caim and Angelus definitely slipped into the buddy-buddy rapport stage of their relationship too fast. Part of their character arcs was coming to understand and value each other, as they did toward the end of the game, but not so early.

I can't believe there's such a good Drakengard story here! I feel that it was very underappreciated considering it's very unique dark-fantasy storyline and world, with one of the most ominous and mysterious enemies ever, the Watchers. I loved the symbolism of the pact: Caim and Angelus having to put aside their mutual hatred in order to live, and in doing so, almost becoming a singular entity. The atmosphere and tension of the world lurching toward its doom was incredible; there's no other game like this one.

Anywho, I liked your writing in this first chapter. I liked the backstory of how Angelus came to be trapped in the bailey - very characteristic of her to watch the armies clash. Little tin soldiers for her amusement. Really well done.

Just found this story and spent an hour reading through it, it's about the best Drakengard fic I've found to date! I much prefer the characters of the first game, and especially prefer Caim, eheh...

I'd love to see more of this.

i love this chapter, and how the two are slowly comeing to like eachother XD i always did find the bond between Caim and the Red Dragon to be special. and you are amazing at capturing this remarkable relationship in the makeing. i' awestruck, literally.

congratulations u have managed 2 take one of the most sick twisted demented melancholy nightmare inducing videogame 4 the PS2 turned it into a comedy 4 which I have been IMAOing since the first chp. Caim and angie's catfights are hilarious. If you don't mind the thought could u include the battle against the wrym in your story. i found it funny how Caim manage to talk angelus into fighting something that was more than willing 2 turn tail and run from. the game didn't give enough detail for me and I would like 2 see what u can do with it. Like I said B4 just a suggestion keep the ball rollin

Pretty nice scene at the end, that she's gotten comfortable enough to have him that close. Seems that after all that, they've found something in common.

I don't think it sucks I find it sweet~! Since Angelus grew fond of Caim's patting on her snout. So glad to see this chapter finally updated~! Will be looking forward for more~ Especially Caim and Angelus moments~
