Is Lucifuges a real mythological figure, or someone you made up? It's a little eerie, how closely this ended up matching where the show seems to be heading. *shudders* I'm really hoping Sam avoids possession by Lucifer.

I loved in here that Sam managed to keep Lucifuges from killing Dean, no matter how often or how hard he tried. You did manage to wrap stuff up in just one chapter, I'm really surprised. The image of Dean setting Sam on fire was chilling. I was so relieved he wasn't hurt.

I did wish we'd had a little longer with the aftermath-the hurt/comfort, Sam enjoying having his sight and hearing back, the boys talking about what had happened and why and how to keep it from happening again. But overall, an enjoyable story, and a neat idea!

Holy crap. This just keeps getting more intriguing. But I don't know how you're going to wrap all of this up in just one chapter.

Huh. I'm really interested to find out what in the heck it is that's doing this to Sam, and why. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

I liked this: "Memories he hadn’t recalled in years crept into the void of Sam’s world, and with a fresh perspective he perceived how much Dean had looked out for him, how much John had loved him – in his own way." Glad he realized that. Also this: "Sam saw with new eyes his family and himself, his words and actions, and his self-loathing grew. He had been so selfish." I love Sam, but I do think he tends to be a little self-centered at times. I don't want him to hate himself, but realizing how much Dean has done for him and that he hasn't always been appreciative is a good thing, I think.

I gotta say, I was pretty shocked that Dean would leave Sam in the hospital alone like that, especially with him being blind and deaf. I know he wanted to get on the research, but it seems like he could've brought the laptop back to the hospital or waited till Sam's tests were over.

I am really glad he thought of the letter thing, though. And I'm assuming the test Sam ran from was an MRI or something?

I really liked this: "Dean didn’t let go after that, and that single touch became Sam’s lifeline."

Wonder why the shadow did this to Sam...

Hm...really intriguing start. What's the shadow? How did it make Sam deaf and blind? Very interesting!

Thanks for the happy ending. Once it was clear that Sam was possessed I was hopeful for an exorcism to work, but I've hardly ever read such an angsty fic.

Wow, I didn't see that epic battle coming! That was an amazing build-up. Really interesting reason for all Sam went through, but it worked. And you're right, the guys don't hug nearly enough. I wish we could have seen a little more of the aftermath and the toll it took on them, but I'm really glad to know the end of the story and find out what was going on. Extra points, too, for Dean being research guy and figuring it out. I always love it when he shows Sam isn't the only brains in the outfit. Thank you for finishing this and good job!
