Wow. Knocked me flat on my ass, this did. My mother suggested I try reading your stuff, because you're amazing. She definitely did not lie.

Thank you for such an overwhelmingly powerful read. Thank you for your incredible insight. Thank you.

i love this - i've just discovered lambs to the slaughter which i think is an awesome piece of writing - one that i haven't wanted to love because i want to believe in gryffindor bravery and harry's heroism and dumbledore's omniscience and have had to grit my teeth against protesting that you're too hard on them - the greatest heroes are desperate, self-absorbed and foolhardy (eg buffy...).

this vignette and the one in which rebecca reads harry's thoughts i think re-situate your work as simultaneously in keeping with canon and brilliantly, unimaginably AU - something i think you have in common with only a few of the fanfiction greats - maya, alice i_w are the only two that come to mind.

for what it's worth from a self-confessed lurker - good work!

Damn, this is powerful. Hits you right in the gut. Brilliant use of Cedric's shoes and keeping the theme going throughout the entire story. Absolutely fabulous.

This is wonderful writing. First of all, the images you brought together, all the associations from such common objects, is really remarkable- from the Portkey-shoes in the canon to Wizard of Oz to the eerie exclamation points at the very end. So much of the story holds together in a logical progression of images that the movement isfluid and uncontestable. It drew me along so well that I wasn't even conscious of being lead. Beautiful.

The characters, however brief or tangential their appearances, are all spot-on. Lupin's thoughts on Pettigrew, and Harry's thought on both, are extremely effective, concise devices. You handle them deftly. Bravo! I wish I'd read this earlier.

Fantastic. Simply fantastic. I bow and scrape at your feet.
