Reviews for Finding Herself
Freebird87 chapter 1 . 6/1/2019
Good story! It would make sense for Wanda to become a Wiccan. I believe Bobby has an interfaith background with a Catholic father and Jewish mother.
ToxicMercury chapter 1 . 10/9/2009
very, very brave of you to tackle religion. I admire you for raising awareness about persecution. it has never said (as far as i know) what Wanda's religion is, or if she even has one, but i always figured it was something like that.
Lady D of Chaos chapter 1 . 6/10/2006
That was great! I really liked how you portrayed Wanda seaching for something to believe instead of automatically saying she was this or that.
jenskott chapter 1 . 6/5/2006
Well, this was a very original chapter. Besides, it was very entertaining seeing Wanda looking for people in the mansion and asking them about their beleifs, trying finding something she could believe in.

Definitely it isn't an easy subject, but I think you have pulled it out well.
Red Witch chapter 1 . 6/2/2006
Great fic. Very deep and personal. It does make sense that Wanda would choose Wiccan. I wonder how the others will react to it? Great job.
qwerty chapter 1 . 6/2/2006
I like it a lot. it was more focused on her character then a plot with is a great touch. well done amego
GothikStrawberry chapter 1 . 6/2/2006
I think everybody goes through something similar at one point or another and I think you did an excellent job writing about Wanda's journey to spirituality.

Nice one-shot, Agent-G! :)
Requiem17 chapter 1 . 5/31/2006

Silver Warrior chapter 1 . 5/30/2006
now this was cool. Wicca, to me, does seem like it would fit Wanda more. And boy is the Institute diverse in the faiths present! And the nationalities and such! Two and a half Canadians (hey,Sarah's a clone of Logan and he's Canadian but there's no telling where she was born), Dani is a Native American, Kai is Japanese, Roberto is Brazillian I believe, Ororo is from Afriza (can't remember where), Kurt is German, Rogue is from the South (hey, we're a nationality all our own!), Rahne is Scottish, and Kitty is Jewish though I don't think she's Hebrew (and HOW does she have the valley girl accent when she's from Illinois? Answer that if you can, PLEASE!).
Multifan chapter 1 . 5/30/2006
Wanda thinking about religion, huh? Didn't think she be one who would think a great deal about religion, given everything that happened to her.

I think nearly everyone thinks Kitty's far too chipper for their tastes. The only exceptions are Piotr, Danielle, and maybe Illyana.

Let me guess, Xavier guaranteed the workers who made the sub-basement hangar and training areas the same anonimity and secrecy that he gave some of those who give donations every now and then.

I can sympathize with Kitty. One time I installed an update to my McAfee VirusScanner/Firewall, which included a QuickClean program to remove clutter files. It didn't work, and when I uninstalled it, it changed an essential file necessary to make my Windows 98 run. End result, I had to take the computer in so that Windows 98 could be reinstalled.

Wanda should remember Obi-Wan's lesson - "Your eyes can deceive you. Don't trust them." Kurt is an excellent example - demonic in appearance, yet angelic in nature.

Kitty may be disappointed, but considering what happened to Wanda, can she really blame her?

Perfect timing, Wanda.

Talk about a warp-speed summary of the essentials of Catholicism.

As for the eggs, I figured it was a way to keep the children's attention. Something like, "Pay attention to what we're going to teach you about Easter, and we'll give you chocolate eggs as a reward."

LOL on the "Kitty diet".

I'm in complete agreement with Vince in terms of "stuffing their faith down other people's throats", but I apply that to all religions. I also resent those who use religion in some form or another as an excuse for violence. The Nazis and the Taliban are perfect examples.

The only deep thinking Wanda does are plans of revenge towards her father and Pietro.

I think Vincent has a good chance of reading them all too. Besides, how many of them had he already read back in Toronto?

Got to wonder if a small part of her misses Pietro.

Since you mentioned her, any chance of bringing Agatha Harkness back in the AGU.

Maybe she should spend some time with Dr. Strange. I believe it was Jen who practices the Wiccan arts, right?
Dazzleballz69 chapter 1 . 5/30/2006
Lovely oneshot. You really did something interresting with how she is looking around for a faith that fits her.

Reminds me of something I went through about one and a half years ago, though I wound up somewhere else than her :p

Great onshot dude, love your work

Fuzzy, signing off...
X00001 chapter 1 . 5/30/2006
i liked the way Wanda asked everyone for help and how they gave her their answers that was good can't wait to find out what she chooses
slickboy444 chapter 1 . 5/30/2006
Very interesting story my friend. You don't get a lot of fics out there that try to tackle religion. But you pull it off very well. You showed Wanda's own little journey with remarkable realism. She had a lot of ground to cover, but thankfully the institute is pretty diverse. I'm not surprised she settled on Wicca. That does kind of do justice to her name when you think about it. I hope this plays into her growth in "Back to School." It'll be interesting to see how this effects her. Maybe she'll start doing some rituals here and there and making her own prayers to Gia. It could help fill that hole in her life and maybe even give her more strength on a personal level. I can picture her saying "Gia give me strength." Good one shot my friend. I really enjoyed it. Keep up the good work. Stay cool like you always do. Slickboy out.
KelseyAlicia chapter 1 . 5/30/2006
Faith is sometimes hardest to find when we need it most. But important to belive in something then nothing just so we can feel compelty Faith and hope can never be allowed to escape us.
The Uncanny R-Man chapter 1 . 5/30/2006
Heh-heh. Finding Herself. It sounds a little bit rude, doesn't it?

I always wondered what religion Wanda was. We know that Magneto is Jewish, but what about Wanda?

I agree with Wanda, the B-Hood wasn't all that untile she turned up. And now that Wanda has joined the X-Men, the B-Hood doesn't have a chance!

A hyrax is a little rodent-y thing that lives in South Africa, I think. Believge it or not, it is closely related the elephants!

Man, you just have done a lot of research for this...

M, chocolate easter eggs...

Ah, you actually got Rahne's religion corrent. Most people think that she's Catholic, but she's not. To be fair, I made that mistake more than once before...

Wanda the Wiccan? Cool.

I don;t think that I'm particularly religious, but if push came to shove, I'd say that I'm Christian. Church of England to be precise. I don't go to church every Sunday, and I only celebrate Christmas for purely selfish reasons. Cuz I like presents.

Well, it's either that or call myself a Jedi. heh.

This was avery intersting story and brought up several valid points. Well done. I look forward to seeing more soon.
