I have one, and only one major critique of this story. That is the fact the story claims Admirals traditionally commanded carriers. I'm prior Navy and served on a carrier. A Captain is in command of the carrier itself. Admirals are on board carriers to command the carrier group from the prime ship of the group. Yes I am aware these stories are being rewritten and I hope that IF carriers are introduced in the rewrites( I hope so. Its a bit of a Star Wars touch brought into Star trek) that such command points would be corrected, particularly that one.
