Whop. Kyoko to the rescue! What a cool idea to swap in EVA 02 as the medium instead resulting in Yui's absence & everything else.

It may have started a bit lacking in detail but in the end ths turned out to be a pretty nice fic - though even in the early parts the basic concept was good enough to sustain my interest.

The scene with the cello was beautiful. I can tell your writing style really improved during your work on this.

Still I felt the terminal Dogma/ clone tank scene should have been in here otherwise Shinji saying that he doesn't mind her mad science origins doesn't quite have as much weight as it could have had.

Ahhh that was intense.

So much for my hope that Asuka being slightly less cray-cray would make this battle easier, it seems she's still nuts enough.

Still the asuka scene had some good moments but mightve stepped into over-the-top ness in places... it's not necessarily that it goes too far (she did shove her boobs in Kaji's face once after all) but that it seems more like generic random insanity than anything with a however warped internal logic.

The direct cut from that to the battle without showing "processing time" was an original & efficient choice tho.

I like how Asuka's not AS crushed as in the prime timeline but not unaffected either it's probably not the kind of experience anyone could brush off.

Also that moment at the end was sweet.

There were some good lines in this (looking at the "I want to feel..." line) though Rei's reservations/fears kind of seemed to come out of nowhere like you could imagine that she might be reluctant because of the whole dutiful henchgirl lab upbringing & the unfamiliarity of the situation but I think there should've been more of an inner logic examination.

Aha. So this is not entirely staying off the dramatic route.

Hm seems like a bit of a fakeout/ cheap cliffie, like I don't think she'd be inclined to go all heroic sacrificey right after THAT experience & the dialogue could ve been less soap opera-ish in places.

That said "and they stayed friends" is usually superior than the "kill the hypothenuse" solution & I'm glad that the news is finally out and smooches were exchanged.

Now, of course, they'll have to do something about the imminent Armisael debacle though it may help that Asuka isn't 100% out of comission. Still, many ways to go about this interpretation wise so I guess I'll just keep reading.

This was all cute & fluffy & suddenly the canon timeline reasserts itself & given where we are we're running out of time.

Okay, My two cents...I think this story is just fine so far. You want it to develop slowly. Nicely done.
