This is such a sweet story. It is one I have read several times, and keep hoping the last part to show up. There are too many of these stories that get started, than dropped for one reason or another – real life? Then there are those of us who read the stories, but never actually get around to writing our own stories... Ah, perhaps, someday.

Very sweet. I wish you had posted part three, but oh well. It was worth it.

Doesn't every parent think this? *laughs* I love how you make Clark seem so human with this, in addition to the 'hiked his pants up before squatting in front of the little boy' bit. It's a minor detail, but it brings life into the story that continues to pull the reader in.

The 'I'm not very good at this' comment was so precious. I don't think Clark realizes that every parent does this. My dad used to ask me this all the time when he would take me home sick from school. 'Do you need anything? Do you want to stop somewhere?' Perfect Dad moment that makes me want to say, 'You're doing great, Clark!'

You also add the perfect amount of sickness on Jason's part to make this as horrible as possible, which is a good thing. :D I remember all the times I've had a fever, which makes a connection with poor Jason's sicknes, which makes me feel even worse for the kid... ugh.

My parents would read me stories too, but I half expected Clark to start reading Jason segments out of the encyclopedia! *laughs* A little much, I know, I know. I'm interested in knowing what he's reading him, though. Minor detail. *grin*

I'm really looking forward to how you tie all this up! Great story!

'Clark Kent, play nanny to a sick five-year old? Clumsy, jittery, meek little Clark Kent?'

I think that sentence perfectly sums up how Lois sees Clark in this story. She doesn't really take him seriously, which makes her all the more nervous about sending him to get Jason. He trips, he spills, he stutters, he mumbles... Clark Kent being a babysitter? Borderline impossible.

Of course, had she known that this was their son they were talking about... :D

'On second thought, it was a good thing he was already on his way, or she just might have changed her mind.'

Perfect inclusion of doubt! You almost make the reader think that she trusts him a little too much too soon. This was a great way to tie it back into that first sentence. Very nice story going on here!
