Reviews for Brothers in Arms
julianne chapter 18 . 3/27/2019
Pretty good story. But something tells me you don't like Jack's character too much as he was injured three times and Mac came off without a scratch. Not fair.
sylvelle chapter 14 . 11/2/2018
Daniel can be a real jerk. Taking not knowing as a personal affront.
sylvelle chapter 6 . 11/2/2018
Of course. Clippie is perfect!
Guest chapter 17 . 5/16/2014
Awesome story!
LadyMo chapter 17 . 2/9/2010
Great story. I thought you were going to have Jack explain to SG-1 why he kept Mac a secret but that's okay. I really loved it. Thanks

:-)
LadyMo chapter 9 . 2/4/2010
I am really enjoying this story. As I read I pictured MacGyver and Jack side by side and sometimes I would even smile when I did that. I could not really picture MacGyver older or at least not as old as Jack is but it was still fund doing it. Now Mac's best friend knows his brother and took it well, it's coming to see how Jack's team and friends take the news about Mac and him keeping it a secret. Hopefully as well as Pete did.

:-)
Rosimae chapter 17 . 3/10/2009
I must say, I'm not one for the Stargate/Macgyver crossovers, but you pulled this off really well. I couldn't stop reading it! Great job, and I must say, keep up the great work! Thanks for writing this, it was a lot of fun to read!
rquestforme chapter 18 . 2/7/2009
Excellent crossover! Looking forward to reading the sequel.
Earth Magician chapter 8 . 9/23/2008
before I mention the problem you've heard of before, I'd like to mention that I really like this story as well as the sequel and wish you would continue writing it

now, to the scene in Minnesota. I might not have lived there for more than the first six years of my life, but I've visited. Sure you get lots of snow in the winter and you get an occasional avalanche (though not anything near what you get here in Switzerland). However, there are no real mountains in Minnesota - it's flat land. Land of 10'0 lakes. Flat prairie land. Sure in the north it's part of the Canadian Shield, but the mountains that were left from that have eroded and now can practically only be called hills. That's not where the avalanches happen. Occasionally though, you'll get an avalanche on the shore of the Mississippi river. As you might guess, that's because of the erosion left by the river.

There are a couple of places along the shore of Lake Superior where it is kinda possible that there would be an avalanche, but it's more likely that it would be a rock slide, because there are really steep cliffs there. I've actually only seen the area around Luzen and Grand Marais really, since that's where my grandparent's cabin is. But I do remember sledding down the hill next to their old house, that was on a lake. I remember the lake freezing and going out on it. I remember hearing about kids that froze to death because their parents weren't home when they got off the school bus and they didn't have any keys. The thing that most people forget about Minnesotan dialect - or never hear - is that the "yeah, sure, you betcha" is used more tongue and cheek. Some expressions that I haven't heard used on Stargate are "real fine" and "more better". The ice fishing, the fact that in the summer it's difficult to get anyone on the phone, because they're all out fishing, the talk about the weather, our pride in the fact that we have four real seasons that are very different (summers from the gulf, winters from the Canadian Rockies), how people used to have to get up in the middle of the night, in the winter, to start their cars so they wouldn't be frozen in the morning, going out trick-or-treating in a blizzard, the "Minnesota-nice". So many things that are just little details that are unknown by most people outside Minnesota. A lot of things that I only know second hand, because we moved to Europe when I was six.

We Minnesotans are proud of our state. And we show that by trying to keep as many people out of it as possible, so that the nature can continue to thrive. That's why when talking about our state we talk about the really cold winters (at forty below it's all the same), the blizzards, the tornadoes, the mosquitoes, etc. We are proud of the people who are successful. For instance I'm really proud about the fact that Richard Dean Anderson comes from Roseville and graduated at the same high school that my sister and aunt did.

So, uh, yeah, if you ever need some info from a Minnesotan, you can send me a PM. If I don't know it, then my mom will. You can ask about Germany (or at least the area around Köln (Kolon or Colon, I think, in English) and Düsseldorf (nicknamed by us "Drizzledorf")...) or Switzerland or even about the German language.

and I'll shut up now... ' really do like the plot of this story and its sequel. It just kinda irks me when people get stuff wrong about my home state. ' So, yeah, sorry if I'm a bit overbearing, I still really like these fics. There's too few MacGyver crossovers as is...
Curuchamion chapter 18 . 7/8/2008
I really enjoyed this story, and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.

My favorite part was the bit where Jack is teasing Mac by imitating Dexter... that seems like something my sisters and I would do (we're really close). It made it a lot more believable to me that they're actually family.
steelefanforever chapter 18 . 6/17/2008
oh my word! I LOVED it. You know, I had thought of doing a story where Jack and Mac were twins that were adopted by different families, but now I'm not sure I will. Yours was so good, mine couldn't compare. Great job.
SnowFox3 chapter 17 . 1/1/2008
Well, this story is excellent.

You showed us the differences between siblings very well- Jack and Mac- eternal twins. This writing was so exquisite that I- when going to get something to eat- wondered why I couldn't remember the name of Richard Dean Anderson's twin brother- who played MacGyver *laughs at self*. And seriously, that rarely happens. So, marvelous job. I loved this story! Loved it! It's absolutely brilliant!

I'm going to go read the sequel now... *shifty eyes, restless*

You have a knack for portraying emotions in your writing. Thus, you are a great writer.

See ya soon!

~SnowFox3

~Oh, and not many stories make it to my favourites list... but yours deserves it. Truly great read.
