The loss of childhood innocence, the terrifying burden of teenage pregnancy and the sheer pressures of the problems of religion in today's pluralistic society - these are just a few of the issues touched upon in this heartfelt memoir of a dying female writer to her estranged son living in exile in the Siberian Wastelands. Its exploration of marxist themes and the sheer dangers of drug abuse not just upon the user but upon those in close proximity to the individual is particularily harrowing - not for those with a light stomach or those who cannot take a story which bites back at the reader with venom.
