Really great chapter. Can't say enougn good stuff. Favorite bits:

He doesn’t want Dean to have last words for years and years...

He hates fighting when his energy’s spent, and he hates being reminded that he isn’t capable.

“Do you know where you are?” she asks carefully, and Dean smiles weakly.

"Heaven?”

“He’s my brother,” Dean explains lying back against the pillow, wondering why their father wasn’t waiting with Sam.

He takes another sip, thinking how peaceful Dean is when he’s asleep.

Faking it or not.

Just guilt for knowing his brother so well when Dean tries so hard to be unreadable. Guilt for having perfected the tone in which he asks for things so much so that Dean has forgotten how to disagree.

Really nice work on John in this chapter. I really began to feel for him, and I don't, often. I'm with Dr. Jesson usually-can't seem to help thinking he deserved it :)

Brilliant interchanges between Sam and John-the whole thing's tight and strong.

Dramatic. These were my favorite parts:

from fear; blood rushing to their hearts so quickly that the thump, thump, thump stops altogether.

he keeps his eyes closed, firmly, tries not to let his breathing hitch because it’s so cold, and he hurts so much

The holidays are over, so where's my update?

very nice. the story's very fragmented, but i know its intentional so heh. and even if it weren't it works nicely with the theme for this story. even then , most of the time its very understandable and to the point. you know who's who and what's what. and furthermore, it's all very very tragic. angst and heartbreak to the very core and not overdone in the least. wonderful. all the characters are suffering equally and very in character. waiting for that update now. -
