This was beautifully written. Yahiko's emotional state was definitely in character... His raw emotions were obviously there since Kaoru is definitely a mother figure or at least an older sister figure to him... And I liked Kenshin and Kaoru's interaction as well... Though I know you wrote this a while ago, lovely job :D!

There's so much sadness in this fic; the beautiful kind of sadness, that is. And there is bright, bright hope just as much. You have conveyed both so well, it almost made me cry. Thank you for sharing. :)

Yahiko, Yahiko, Yahiko, the loss and sudden abandonment must have been traumatizing. Not again. His parent's were dead, Kaoru was dead and everyone left him. As a child, I knew the gripping fear of suddenly coming home to a silent house and had cried. And had nightmares of having one or two of my parents dead but to have it come true...

And Kenshin, he really broke down that all he could do was go away.

Very mature fic and no matter how many times I've read it, it never get old. Favorite among favorites.

I really, really LOVE this whole Kaoru-coming-back storyline. It's such an emotional piece and gives justice to the dedicated, loving, more often than not unapprciated character that is Kaoru Kamiya. Great shot. ;)

This was really great. The manga never showed any indication of anyone telling Kaoru what happened in her absence. And Yahiko, oh Yahiko. I just realized how he treasures his teacher so much though he never shows any of it. I've always had this thing for fics portraying Kaoru as the one holding their surrogate family together. I'd really like to read more of this.

I'm too lazy to log in but this is amazing :)) I'm sure I've read this before but the second time feels better somehow, familiar and warm :) this is one of the best interpretation of post-junchuu scenario, and well, I couldn't ask for more :') beautiful. i love this scene and I love how you reworked it. THose were things difficult to open up about and the tiny steps you made the characters take were just what they would probably do in the manga.

i wouldn't understand why anyone would not tell her what enishi did. how else would she had been able to be a support to kenshin- and to kick the melancholy out of everybody's butts.

i know it has nothing to do with your story but, i can't send you brownies or something to express my appreciation for your work and to encourage writing more rurouni kenshin, or writing anything, just keep writing! -but i did draw kenshin in a kilt at[remove spaces]
